I was contemplating a few scenarios under which Uday and Sudha finally get hitched:
- What we all expect - Uday finds out about Devika's dual personality, and comes to terms w/ it, and ultimately marries Sudha w/ full pomp & ceremony, in a wedding much like Pankaj/Jyoti's. It's a very happy day for Sudha, since she gets to be welcomed into her in-laws by, amongst others, Jyoti.
- Uday and Devika get engaged, but Sudha is still in the dark about her Devika personality, and that she's now engaged to Uday. KK's entire family gets the invite to Uday's & Devika's wedding, but due to Sushma's crisis, they are in a bind. Ultimately, the compromise is that Padma, Deepu and Dadi go and tend to Sushma, while KK and Sudha attend the wedding, w/ Sudha playing a supporting role for Jyoti, and tends to Uday's needs. However, Devika does not turn up (how can she?), and the entire Vashisth family is panic stricken on how to save face. Ultimately, for a variety of possible reasons listed below, they decide to offer Sudha the bridal role, which she joyfully accepts.
- Since the bride does not show up, they consider this solution: since Sudha resembles Devika, they offer her the bridal role, which she accepts, and have her marry Uday under the name Devika, which is how she's then known
- They are honest about the fact that Devika was absconding, and announce that Sudha has accepted the bridal role and the wedding was going ahead
- Uday tells cm & Jyoti that after Devika, Sudha was his other choice, and since Devika has made it known by her action that she is not interested, Uday is willing to marry Sudha if she is willing. Since Sudha is secretly in love w/ Uday, she readily accepts, and everybody is happy
- Devika had broken up w/ Uday like in the episode where she stated that she's not interested in marriage. In the meantime, Uday has become more fond of Sudha due to the small but meaningful gestures she's made him, and expresses interest in her to Jyoti & cm. Pankaj's parents and cm visit KK, and give him a proposal for Sudha, which is happily accepted
