I am sure there are, but in real life im sure no girl wants to wait around too, the eastern society is still very much conservative and sees marriage as a licence to do it more than anything else, so it doesnt make sense for them to wait, in the west however the case is different.

Ok thanks!! :D is this a case of split personality? :O I've just been relying on updates since the episodes haven't really progressed over here in the UK so I was a bit weirded out when "sudha" was praying for jyoti's happy married life ... Hmm interesting!!!

Actually, Sudha has a multiple personality disorder. Cause of this was the incident in her dadi's gaon, where she was humiliated in front of the whole school because someone managed to contrive to make it look like she was cheating in her exams. Since then, due to the harshness of both Dadi and Deepu, who used to call her 'Dheeli' (what does it mean?), she withdrew into a shell and was a very unhappy girl.

Then one night, she suddenly developed an alternative persona where she became everything she wanted to be, and somehow landed up in an Udaipur night club (they have those?) It was there that Uday met her, and developed a fondness for her. When he asked her her name, she said Devika. Since then, a number of incidents happened where Devika would do something, and Sudha would be later suspected by those who saw Devika, of having done those things.

Since then, whenever Sudha would become upset, due to anybody scolding her, or something like it, she'd cry, then wipe her tears, and then turn into Devika. In today's episode (the one after this update's), she was praying for Jyoti's happiness when suddenly, she had a seizure, and then heard Uday calling out Devika. In the episode you were referring to, she got upset that Jyoti attempted to end her life, and in that state too, she turned into Devika.
