You've painted a picture of Prithvi that is so vivid ! 👏

Hope we get to read at least a couple of scenarios a week ! 👍🏼

Thanks so much Usha! 😳

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit hesitant about writing character insights cuz we all perceive them differently so yes, thank you!

I'm completely obsessed with them at the moment, so I guess I'll be updating often (or atleast until they fall in love!). 😉

P.S. Thank you. I quite like that quote. This show has become my new passion at the moment. 😆

Here's another character insight - this time from Meera's perspective. Though the Maha Episode (which I haven't included) would have been fun to add too. Ah well, another time perhaps. Enjoy! 😊

[character insight 02 - meera]

Trust.

It's such a fickle thing. Sometimes you could spend years building it and sometimes it just comes with an unconscious act, an instinctive gesture.

She is not one to trust easily. Being an only child of a parent has taught her to be wary. She's constantly looking out, carefully stepping through the trappings of words and promises. She knows she's difficult to deal with but she is grateful that Akash puts up with her anyway.

Sometimes she wonders why he stuck around. Its not her self esteem that makes her question it, it's her independence. She knows she's fiercely stubborn and she also knows that a lesser man wouldn't have been able to pass the various tests she put him through. She knows she has issues but doesn't know why he doesn't mind. Or how he's learnt not to clench her too tight, but just enough for her to rely on him.

She trusts him now.It has taken her years and yet sometimes she finds herself looking out from the corner of her eye, still cautious.

As she stares at him across the ring of kerosene, she knows she looks like a woman possessed. Her mother is dying and she's here and he keeps threatening her with false bravado and empty threats. Even as he toys with the lighter, she knows he won't light the fire. And she's tired of playing; she has grown up things to do. She just wants to get it over with. To be done with him.

She grabs the lighter and starts the fire, wishing she could turn his pride to ashes just the same. Even as she feels the heat so close, she doesn't feel the burning sensation. Instead, she feels like she is being ripped apart from inside. She hears the blood rushing though her and all she wants is to rip him apart. For a moment, her eyes are drawn to his bleeding forearm and she feels a sense of deep sated satisfaction.

The flames are rising now and the fumes start to choke. She continues to stare at his image blurring, shaking, moving over the smoke. She sees the wave of emotions shifting on usually stoic face, like a fast moving film. Defiant and challenging, she waits for his resolve to crumble. Even as she falls to the ground, she waits.

Because though she would never admit it out loud, despite everything, she trusts him. Trusts him to always save her. Always.

Fragile, unpredictable, and instinctive in nature, trust they say is a lot like love.

Merry Christmas everyone! 🤗

Here's a slightly longer update than my other usual ones but it's all Mithvi, kinda. Enjoy and please let me know what you think of it. 😳

[character insight 03 - prithvi]

She would have blossomed into a remarkable woman, he reckons.

As he watches her grind the chillies while talking to herself, he cant help but be impressed. A lesser woman would have left long ago, while a cunning one would have cried her way out of the household chores he knew she had clearly had no previous experience in. But he has watched over the weeks how she has taken each and every one of them on as a challenge, much like she does with people.

He has tried his best to make her feel unwelcome, while the others in the haveli have gone out of their way to make her miserable. Even Daata Thakur who always has a kind word and soft corner for everyone seems to ignore her as well as he possibly can.

And yet she stays. Driven by an invisible goal, fuelled by a stubbornness that ravels his own.

A stubbornness that will soon cost her, her own life.

A life he himself has saved on a number of occasions. He might not admit it but he feels like he has a stake over it now. Maybe that was part of the reason he had called Daata Thakur to double check, another of course was the extreme nature of the demand - something he had always promised he'd do for his Daata but something his Daata had never put to test before. He had never instructed Prithvi to kill anyone, ever.

She was an exception.

Something she had been from the moment she had set foot in his village and his life. She had tried to upset his equation with his Daata, sullied his character in front of the same villagers who turned to him in need, and brought shame onto his Daata's honour. But above all, she had made him question his Daata's actions.

In a fit of anger, directed more at himself and the doubts in his mind than at her, he pulls her by the arm and drags her out. The sooner he gets over with this, the better for his own sanity. He's not a man who entertains doubts, nor does he enjoy them.

The ease with which she comes along with him, peppered with some customary annoyance does nothing to sooth his nerves. In fact, it makes him angrier. It reeks of trust and her confidence in his inability to harm her. Isn't she aware of the danger he imposes?

She sits down quietly next to him as he continues to seethe in his own personal agony, trying his hardest to shut down his system, willing his anger to overcome his senses. The same anger that almost drowned her in the well or burnt her in a kerosene fuelled circle.

It's ironic but he feels like he's burning and drowning both at the same time and she sits there completely unaffected.

He starts the car, is about to put it in gear when she comes. Choti Thakurain. He doesn't know if that's a blessing or a curse - he's too preoccupied to figure it out. A part of him wants to zoom off, while obedience and respect holds him back, patiently waiting against his will for her to join them.

He has known her since they were kids, have grown up together. They have climbed trees together, gone to fairs together and he has even fought with other children for her. And yet, as she stops the car and questions him. She catches him by surprise. She has known him her whole life and yet she can't sense the turmoil he is going through.

As she heads back to seek permissions, he looks at her. She sits there quietly. She is tense and unsure, he can see that but she doesn't say a word. Doesn't ask, doesn't argue, doesn't even question what he just told Choti Thakurain. It's almost like she can tell something is going on with him, like she knows something is wrong (but she doesn't know him that well, she just met him a few weeks ago). It surprises and disturbs him.

He doesn't think it's possible but he tenses up further as she moves back and Choti Thakurain sits next to him. Her chatter starts to grate on his nerves but he holds his silence, adjusting his mirror so he can see her. She serves as a reminder of Daata Thakur's orders and the bigger goal he has set out to do.

She has gorgeous eyes, fierce like a lioness's, coy like a doe's.

The thought comes to him quite suddenly and he is caught off guard. Before he can figure out what is going on or how, he feels Choti Thakurain's hand on his arm. His first instinct is to pull it off. He doesn't like being touched but more than that, he doesn't want to lead her on. He's not dumb, he just acts like he doesn't see the way her eyes soften when she talks to him, or how her voice turns shrill and how she tries to break his stoic silence with her non-stop chatter. Because he doesn't know how to call her out and he doesn't want to hurt her feelings.

She's a good girl, innocent, immature and Daata Thakur's daughter.

He would never admit it, but that was the first time in his life he was grateful for her touch.

It pulled him away from thoughts that were far too dangerous. Dangerous enough to shake him to his core.

Thoughts of her, as a woman.
