Loved this update.

Amazing how things are changing between them. Update next one soon! Can't wait.

I know, I know, and trust me, it is a one-time thing here (I am not really a fan of the "slap-slap-kiss" trope due to the problematic implications this brings with it). however, he did manipulate her into his khaas mahal with a tariff, knowing that her wounded pride would draw her out, and then weaponized the night of their consummation when she calls him mad for almost tanking the economy just to have her before him.

in addition to that, he was banking on that reaction because, to his masochistic mind, her rage means that she feels something (and that is exactly what he needs to know). hence, his response here: "That was the most honest you could be today, Jodha Begum."

this twist is kinda in the content warning anyway, so I will just spoil it here: she finds out she's pregnant

he did infringe on her autonomy which is almost unforgivable in Jodha's sight 😭🙏🏾. that slap is going to be a one-time event though, so Jodha is not going to be slapping him around (thankfully).

that being said, about Maham, she will be showing up in a later chapter (probably three or four chapters soon), just not in this one, and she is going to be a major antagonist (and maybe even worse of a narcissistic psychopath than the serial portrayed her to be)
