The update was posted on 7 October and our man’s birthday is on 2 October. Timely update, methinks.

A big, big thank you for springing this lovely surprise on us, coming as it did almost a year later but, hey, who is keeping count? Ha..ha.. The truth of the matter is. no matter how tortured we feel at the long wait for an update, the moment it arrives, the heady feeling that washes over us more than generously compensates for the delay.

Chapter 43 was a non-stop thrill ride all the way (as are all the other chapters) and the poignant scene at the end was brilliantly written.

Wow! Did Jodha get an eyeful of Jalal’s luscious body or what? Not that Jalal did not feast his eyes on her glorious form as well.

Her revelation for not daring to answer his call did not diminish her allure one bit in his eyes but only strengthened his resolve to put her mind at ease and put her out of the unwanted misery that is conjured up by her hyper-imaginative mind, by giving the contact numbers of his closest friends should Jodha be unable to reach him at any time.

And their fascination with each other’s feet is absolutely delightful. Jalal and his devilish stunt at thanking her stomach for answering his calls was an irresistible read. The altercation that followed soon after was supposed to be Jodha’s self-recrimination but was turned on its head when Jalal stormed away from her, he in turn blaming himself for his lack of self-control where she is concerned.

Jodha’s impassioned explanation of her middle-class upbringing and what constituted proper behaviour for a girl and her profuse apology for hurting him with her words was really stirring.

Wow! It was love at first sight for Jalal while Jodha grew to love him after witnessing his many admirable traits. Jodha’s portrait was magnificent with all that it conveyed about Jalal and the anchor that he was in her life.

Jodha is walking away with the greatest gift that could be bestowed on her on HIS birthday but Jalal will rise to the occasion to claim likewise in due time.

Thank you for this sterling chapter and impatiently waiting for the next update.
