Yes..My mother tongue is Tamil. And the novel is is in Tamil only. It appeared in the Tamil weekly magazine called "Kalki" ( The person who established and edited the magazine was Kalki himself.) in the early fifties for nearly three years, . The popularity of the novel was so much that after the author Kalki passed away in 1954 at the age of 55, the serial was published again and again to increase the circulation of the magazine. Thus it enabled three generations of the readers to enjoy the epic story.

Kalki's works were nationalised in 1999 by the government .Thereafter, it was continuously published as a book by different publishers, even till last year. It was translated in English also, and I also find abridged English version in the internet.

But nothing will even go near the original Tamil version, with the illustrations..

The historicals Parthiban Kanavu ( The dream of Parthiban ) and Sivakamiyin Sapatham ( Sivakami's Oath). are also the other outstanding creations of the author..
