Arre firstly, this is an unusually cold spell - all sorts of records being broken. UK -especially London - doesn't get this way at all... minimum temperature is generally 0 -1 or -2 a week maybe all year! We are a dull gloomy rainy place instead!People in East Coast of USA and Canada, Iceland, Russia - all have it far worse, right? (Even Scotland's worse!)Secondly, life is very comfortable here. Warm homes from bathroom to hallway. Hot water in ALL taps all year around. All latest windows are 100% sealed tightly shut when closed - where you can't even feel a sliver of air slip through. Warm vehicles, shops, schools. You don't feel the cold indoors. It's ONLY when you step out for a walk that you feel the chill. On the other hand, I almost died when I visited Delhi one winter - 😭. It was 5 degrees. No hot water every time you want to wash hands - unless you're ready to wait for geyser for 15 minutes. Cold marble floors. No heaters. Wind howling through closed windows and doors. I was shivering for 5 days morning to night. 😭 Then, I visited Uttaranchal. And it was 0 degree there. Soch! I was like that typically-annoying comedy sidekick in movies - come from London but going 'I'm cold... I'm cold' all the time 🤣
