Chapter 2
It was 2am and they were still hugging each other, peacefully, with their eyes closed. Jalals head was just relaxed on jodha's belly and jodha has her left arm on his shoulder and her right hand in his hair, relaxed on his head. Sleep took over jodha, jalal broke the hug and kissed on her stomach again.
He looks back at jodha and notices that she is sleeping. He smiles at her, gives her a peck on her lips and gets off the bed. As he walks outside the room, a cute old lady who was a nurse was walking towards jodha's room. Jalal looked at her and smiled. She smiled back and said "Are you Mr Mohammad?"
Jalal nodded. She says that she has to add this insulin to Mrs Mohammad's drips so it would give her some energy and that she will be fit and fine soon. Jalal agrees and walks in with her! As she adds the injection medicine to jodha's hands where the drip was connected to her nerves, jalal shuts his eyes and started feeling the pain. The nurse smiled and said your wife is sleeping peacefully, she doesn't feel the pain, so how can you feel it? jalal just looks at her and she smiles even more saying you love her a lot, I can clearly see that in your eyes! God bless you my child! And she turns around to leave when she stops and asks him if he needs a bed arranged or he is fine to stay on the chair overnight. Jalal says I am fine with the chair, thank you. She smiles and leaves. Jalal goes to the chair next to jodha's bed and sits down. He looks at the time.. It was 2:47am. He remembered the entire incident that had happened after his work and room shifting. He breathed in to take some peace and thought once again.. I would've died if anything happened to you and our baby.. I just hope these left over 6 months passes smoothly so that we can live our life with our baby, like a happy family. He puts his hand over jodha's head and puts his head on her shoulder and falls asleep!
6:50am Jalal wakes up and sees that it's already morning and he couldn't attend work today. He didn't have his phone on him since he rushed to the hospital with only jodha in his arms! He went outside to the general ward reception and asked the receptionist if he can make a phone call, the receptionist said yes sir, sure you can!
Jalal then called his best friend like brother, Abdul, and told him everything that happened with jodha last night. Abdul was like a brother to jalal, they both loved each other a lot, they were business partners as well. Abdul got shocked and asked how is bhabhijaan now? Jalal told him the whole truth whatever the doctors said but he added that nothing will happen to our baby, it's mine and jodha's child, it's a one strong baby! Abdul laughs and says yes jalal, I will come in today and see bhabhijaan. Just make sure she is resting okay?! Okay says jalal, and hangs up the phone! Jalal then goes back inside to see jodha, it was now 7am! She will still sleeping. Jalal then thought, while she's sleeping I'll quickly go down to the cafeteria and grab a coffee. Jalal grabbed his coffee and went back up from the lift to the general ward! When he got to jodha's room, he found her awake sitting on the bed ready to have her breakfast served by the nurses. Jalal smiled and asked how you feeling now jaan? She smiles and says way much better now baby! Jalal sits next to her and sees what she has been served for breakfast! It was a chicken sandwich with cheese and salad, with a glass of water and a small bottle of orange juice. Yes, jodha was vegetarian before but after her marriage with jalal, she started eating non-vege and still remained a Hindu, but also respected her husbands religion Islam. Jalal told jodha to start eating. But she asks him if he ate anything yet or not. Jalal shakes his head saying not yet, but I am having my coffee. Jodha looks at the coffee in his hand and says let me taste it first. Jalal gives her the coffee and she takes a sip. She looks down at the coffee and says, "jalal, I will be back!" She moved the little table which had her breakfast on. Jalal stops her saying what are you doing jodha? She looks at him saying "I am going to the wards kitchen. Jalal asks why? She says you won't be able to drink this coffee, I know you too well, you can't have machine-made coffee." Jalal looks down and says jodha, just have your breakfast. I will manage for today. Jodha felt upset knowing that he is willing to drink this so shit-tasted coffee only because he doesn't want to annoy her in this health condition. Jodha says, "I don't care, I'll be back" Jalal let's her go.. She slowly starts walking and goes to the wards kitchen which was only 5 rooms away from her room, the wards kitchen was for patients and their family members to warm up food, to make milk, tea, coffee etc. She got there and made coffee for jalal herself! She comes back and gives jalal the coffee. When jalal said thanks to her, she realized that he was crying. She cupped his cheeks and asked why are you crying, what happened? Jalal was quiet. He didn't utter a word. Jodha started tearing up and said jalal please tell me what happened.
Jalal started crying again and hid his head in her bosoms. Jodha got worried and hugged him tightly in her chest. She asked him again, jalal please tell me what happened. Jalal says I would've killed myself if anything happened to you. I shouldn't have let you go upstairs to get your phone, I should've been the one who should've went upstairs to get your phone. This all happened because of me. I hate myself, because of me I could've lost you and our child. Jodha breaks the hug and says jalal, nothing is your fault. I wanted my phone, I went upstairs to get it, I tripped over the stair case when I was coming down. Nothing's your fault baby, it was my fault, it was an accident. But look baby, your wife and our baby is totally fine right? She smiles looking deep in his eyes. Jalal wipes his tears and kisses her forehead and says have your breakfast jodha. Jodha says first tell me you won't feel guilty for this, you can't feel guilty for what you haven't done jalal, it was only an accident. And look, you should feel so proud of yourself.. because you saved me and our baby. Feel proud that your child is strong enough that nothing happened to him/her! Jalal slightly smiled and brings the orange juice to him. He opens the bottle and makes jodha drink it. Jodha first puts the coffee mug near his mouth so he drinks it first. He took a sip of coffee in his mouth and says, this is why your hand made coffee is the only coffee I can drink. It just tastes so delicious just like you. Jodha smiles and then realized what he meant. She looks at him with her wide eyes and says "jalal, aap bhi na" and blushes. He then smiles and makes her drink orange juice and feeds her the chicken sandwich! After breakfast, jalal took jodha for a little walk around the children's ward which was a level down to the general ward! Jodha was feeling way better but she was just slightly limping, holding jalals arm. Jalal and jodha walking pass the children's ward. Jodha sees a 3 year old baby girl in a huge hospital bed. She stopped walking and looked at the parents who was just sitting beside their child's bed. Jalal looked the direction jodha is looking at. He immediately understood that she is feeling what the parents are going through. He said to her, what happened jodha, let's continue walking. we soon need to reach to the general ward! Jodha intertwined her fingers in jalals and says seeing your child in pain would be the biggest curse ever right jalal? jalal remembers about her pregnancy complications.. a lone tear sparkled out his eye. He swiftly wipes it and says jodha, I know what you mean..but let's go. She wiped her tears away and slowly they start walking back to the ward. It was 12:30pm! Jodha was in bed resting while jalal was patiently waiting for Abdul to come! Soon Abdul arrives and comes inside the room. Jodha wasn't sleeping, but she was just resting with her eyes shut. As jalal sees Abdul, he signals not to say anything by putting his finger on his lips. He then walks outside the room with Abdul and they both gave each other a brotherly-warm hug. Jalal had a tear in his eye, Abdul widely smiles and says, "hey man, don't get upset about that, it's your child. Itni jaldi tera peecha nahi chode ga, apna baap pe gaya hai..hukum pe hukum de ga!" Abdul slightly laughs and says everything's fine now and let's just hope everything goes well jalal.. Jalal looks at Abdul and says, "only I know how I've spent this whole night, in guilt. Jalal says Abdul, why did I let jodha go upstairs alone." Jodha heard her name, she wasn't sleeping but she was only resting with her eyes shut. She opened her eyes as she heard jalal say 'Abdul, why did I let jodha go upstairs alone'. Jodha then walks near the door which wasn't closed, she remains inside the room behind the wall trying to listen to what jalal is saying. Jalal then says, "why didn't I think that she shouldn't go upstairs and downstairs all the time during this state? Why didn't I think that it could be risky for any pregnant women, Abdul, this all happened because of me.. If I went upstairs myself, this wouldn't have happened. My jodha wouldn't have.. " Jodha then quicly interfered before he could complete his sentence about the pregnancy complications she has. Jalal got shocked thinking she heard everything? Jodha had a tear in her eyes. She comes in front and says, "jalal, how many times will I tell you that this was not your fault. I was the stubborn one who wanted my phone, don't give yourself a huge punishment for something that you've never done baby, it will only make me feel even more guilty. Cause the truth is that you told me not to go upstairs.. but I went. And this unfortunate accident happened."
She wiped her tears and said, "but jalal, I and our baby both are totally fine na, then don't worry about this haan, let's forget about this accident." She smiles at him and he agrees. Jodha turns to go inside when she sees and remembers that Abdul is there too! She gets happy and smiles widely saying,
"Abdul, come in, come in!" He smiles back and says Bhabhijaan, how are you feeling?! Jodha jalal and Abdul walks inside! Jodha pushes a chair out for Abdul and Abdul bobs down on his knee and very lightly acts to knock on his bhabhijaan's stomach saying "and how are you feeling my little spiderman?!" Jodha rises both her eyebrows and smilingly sayys, "your bhabhijaan and your Spider Man are both perfectly fine!"
She makes Abdul stand up by putting both her hands on his shoulders. Jalal smiles seeing this pure relation between the bhabhi-devar!
Abdul says bhabhi, are you honestly feeling better? When jalal told me this I got so scared, I just hope.. "Abdul, let your bhabhi have some rest. I want to discuss something about our business to you." Cutting Abdul in between his talk. Jalal needed to inform Abdul that jodha does not know about the complications, so remain silent otherwise if she finds out she will blame everything on herself.
Jodha looks at jalal with an irritated face saying, "aree, abhi abhi toh Abdul aaya hai, kuch der araam se baatein toh kar lene dijiye hum bhabhi-devar ko!"
Jalal looks at Abdul with meaningful eyes and Abdul understood that jalal needs to talk to him right now!
Abdul smiles and gives the flowers to his bhabhi for a get-well-soon wish and makes her lay back down on bed saying now you have to relax bhabhi, I and jalal will go for a little walk and at the same time we'll discuss about the business talk jalal needs to do!
Jodha was irritated by relaxing all this time and she says that everyone just doesn't wanna talk to her, they always make her shut up and relax. She says no one wants to talk to me.
Jalal smirks and goes near jodha saying to Abdul, "Aakhein band kar Abdul" Abdul got confused saying.. "what?"
Jalal sitting on bed in front of jodha, looking straight in her eyes, pushes Abdul's face to the other side and smooches on jodha's lips and says, "rest up baby, you need to rest.. I'll be back soon." Jodha gets shocked with the sudden kiss in front of Abdul! Abdul understood what jalal had just done.
Abdul still facing the other side smirks and says, "jalal, wait till you get home, then love my bhabhi in your room. Not in the hospital where visitors, nurses and doctors are there 24/7!"
Jodha angrily blushes so hard and looks at jalal like a hungry tiger.. She whispers to jalal saying 'yeh aap kya kar re hai jalal, Abdul ke samne.. Aap ko koi sharam nahi.. Chi' And she turns her face around. Jalal says "Abdul, you're forgetting that right now this room is also my wifes." And as jalal says this, his two fingers bought jodha's face back to him and pecked on her lips so passionately where jodha felt a shiver run down her spine. She nearly lost her control when she hears Abdul saying, "are you both done with kissing each other?" Jodha manages to control herself! She fakes anger on jalal by pushing his shoulder to push him away from her. She then looks the other side and blushes so hard and says, "I think you two needed to talk, I need to rest up!" Jalal laughed so hard and jodha was just embarrassed! She laid back in bed and slowly turned the other way facing her back to Abdul as she could not face him!
Abdul turns around and cutely laughs at his brother and bhabhi's romance.. The brothers then walk outside the room leaving jodha all blushed up and embarrassed at her husbands acts!
Alone jodha in the room smiles at herself remembering what just happened! She just felt more love for her husband. She touches her belly and says, "You better not be naughty like your father, your father is way too complicated to look after, he is a bigger baby than you. But I'm sure my baby won't give me a hard time like your father always does! You will be mummy's boy, right?"
She smiles and caresses her own stomach and shares her sweet moments with her baby..
