when i started watching the show i could not believe my eyes that someone can act and look so good at the same time and that also so much resemblance to the real person!..rajat's acting, his persona, his so close character to the real Akbar made him win millions of hearts and accolades for his role and getting many awards is the proof!..and moreover he was brilliant under SV's direction, not that he is not so good now but the overall magic had that royal aura when things were not so bad offscreen!..the creative writers were better, the directors were better, the energy, the enthusiasm was at its peak! the show was magical then and the usp of the show was Akbar's larger than life image, rajat's excellent acting and their love story that had its own twists and turns in an interesting way!
the show for me started going downward when the actual director of the show left, the royal aura was missing after that..although ranjan is good but something was missing!..all akhda scenes did not have the life and looked half baked as if the actors want to finish it off asap!..and last but not the least Akbar's image was crushed to pieces where he was not at the pedestal anymore..he was not larger than life and to me he was a lifeless and spineless puppet who had nothing better to do than listen to jodha and compliment her left right and center..not that it is a sin to listen to a wife but i wanted to see a strong monarch who can function on his own and not kept falling and failing every now and then so that jodha can come and pick him up..this was more of a fiction with ekta's typical style of showing a heroine mahaan and center of attraction and nothing else..but if that is fetching trps then why not!
i have high regards for rajat but i think this daily soaps of sbs style are not his forte, he needs to move on and try some more challenging and male dominated roles which he does to perfection..this hen pecked husband and half sick weak human who cannot even walk or live without his wife's help is completely waste of time and a useless show for a great actor like him! how i wish either the show ends or he quits! and i think any actor can replace him and do such a role of a spineless and a useless king! (cannot even say him akbar anymore!)
