It was quiet unpredictable and no one saw it coming
Chetan Hansraj has been associated with the Ekta Kapoor and Balaji shows for over ten years. He has been a part of most of their shows in a cameo role or in a full-fledged baddie. In the initial days of Jodha Akbar, Chetan had a very pivotal role as Adham Khan, who gets killed by Akbar.
Post the leap, Chetan was rehired as Haider Khan and was promised about 20 days shoot every month. However, as the story transpired the character's part kept reducing in the show. Apparently, Chetan voiced his concerns to the production house several times and thought that things would be taken care of considering he was a senior actor and a Balaji loyalist. But it seems no one paid any heed to the actor's concerns. In a conversation with a popular website, Chetan said, "My character was going nowhere. Shalu the Associate Creative Head was the reason I continued with the show post leap. But it was all empty promises leading to nothing. Each day became humiliating to shoot, thus I quit. I am a senior actor and one should respect my integrity. Shalu has no idea how to carve a character."
Apparently, Chetan lost out on a lot of plum projects as he had given his dates for Jodha Akbar, which was not even being used. All our calls to Chetan went unanswered. The actor tweeted, "I Quit the show people was very unhappy with how my Role Panned out ...RIP Adham/Haider Khan Time to quit. I quit my show 2 days ago , so unhappy with the way i was lied to about my role .. this is so disgusting." We'd definitely like to hear the other side of the story. But Ekta's phone too was unavailable.
