These are what epic love stories are about ...
Remember after the Khaiber kidnapping fiasco, we saw Jodha lying down on the bed and Jalal sitting up hoping that he would always live up to being her husband and protecting her children.
After the turmoil, of Atifa, Khaiber, yelling, fights, insults, shocks ... the wringer we always wanted ... a pain of separation ... that would show turmoil in both Jodha and Jalal ...
We end with Jodha- Jalal sitting next to each other ... in complete faith in each other's love till their last breath 😳 and a new-found confidence (for me the viewer) that Jodha-Jalal will always be in love and there for each other no matter what the CVs put them through. 😆
1. Unraveling the cards and explaining his actions to all that were hurt by him ... it was nice to see Jalal continue to address all the loopholes. The hunting trips and the conversations and the plan. There may be loopholes ... but at least we know he thought about this and it was not something he did impulsively. And the biggest achievement was that he was ahead of his enemies for a change.
How Jalal's pain and sadness of hurting everyone came out in the DEK ... and how he admitted it in the DEK that he had hurt everyone, his Ammijaan, his Begumat, and even Atgah Khan, and Tansen.
Even Tansen was in the loop ... only my Todarmal was out of the loop. 😭
2. Atgah Khan ... take a bow ... for having the faith in Jalal that no one else did. And what an amazing Teddy Bear hug! 👏
No wonder Jalal will be so broken when he died!
Oh and the Jalal and Atgah Khan soldier shot was for another spying ... even SBS promos are edited to be misleading.😉
3. Maham Anga take a bow ... for even in the worst situations you are able to look for an escape route ... not an ounce of shame, but just cool, composed action... and this time she justified her actions by saying she wanted to give the Awaam a better Shehenshah as Jalal was focused on fighting for the women and not his awaam.
If I were Jalal, I would have asked her, who were the better Shehenshah options? What would she have said? Adham Khan? 😲😆
But, no Jalal had an even more fitting response.
4. The final blow to Maham Anga: "So is the awaam also why you captured Chaand Begum?" And the shock in Maham Anga's face was amazing.
Poor Chaand Begum ... she definitely was not acting before on her mental state, but she has got a spa treatment and designer makeover. Rashmi, this one is for you! 👏
Oh and with that, all my dreams of a negative Nigar go away.
5. What punishment should I give you? The conflicting pain and anger in Jalal's face was mind-blowing.
The way his eyes pierced her when Jalal said "I cannot kill you, though you can do it to me" ... Maham Anga must have died that moment.
The fatal laugh when said, "You know the law" ... meaning only to break it.
And what a punishment to give her ... to lock her away from the world that she always wanted to rule over in a prison corner.
And what an amazing way to make her realize the extent of her sins... that he was actually fulfilling his "dhoodh ka karz" by making sure she did not commit another sin. 👏
6. Jalal's apology to the group in the room ... as he realized he had hurt of all them was poignant. His approach with each - Hamida Bano as his mother, Salima Begum as his advisor, and Ruqaiyya as his friend - were different.
I actually liked the way he jokingly hinted at Ruqaiyya's mistakes and said that he hoped that she would forgive him the way he forgave her.
It was just about Jodha's turn ... when she runs off in happiness in realizing that she had never lost Jalal's love after all.
7. Jodha had a beautiful journey of discovering her faith in Jalal and his love ...
- The initial pride at hearing what Jalal had planned and why
- To the loving final Shehenshah when they were all ending in the DEK
- To the way she ran off ... unable to face the beauty of the love and care she was seeing ... to thank Kanha for her love and asking "How could I ever think he could not love me?"
And hence, her love was now on an unshakeable foundation.
BTW Moti wanted to take credit, where did you come from? 😆
8. The first Jodha-Jalal milan after all the pain. Loved the way Jalal called out to a sitting Jodha. Jodha turns. The emotions simmering in their eyes. All the emotions simmered to the top ... and Jalal just couldn't resist and hugged her immediately. The both poured out their pain.
And as always, I love the forehead touch!
But soon it went to more light territory where she innocently asked whether he had really been upset at her, for the Khaiber fiasco. And Jalal honestly admitted "a little" - because she had endangered her life. I liked Jalal's honesty there.
And then, Jalal healed Jodha's biggest pain - why had Jalal hidden the truth from Jodha: this was the biggest thing bothering Jodha now. And he had such a fitting response- he did not want her to risk his life to save him like she had done in the Ben track.
And, if they had not had a rift, she would have become the target of the enemies ... as she would be in the way of their plan.
What a mature resolution to all their pain!9. The Atgah - Maan Singh moment: Where did this come from in my take 10? Well, I found it very endearing. Maan Singh's guilty for his restlessness and distrust of the Shehenshah. Maan Singh understanding his perspective but also acknowledging that Jalal and he always trusted him. And the hug was very symbolic of the religious harmony that Akbar worked towards in his reign. 👏
And at least Todarmal had something to do in giving out the Eidi gifts Hamida 😉
And there was something well shot about Hamida Bano saying the the noor of happiness shining on all of us and cut to the scene with the light shining on Jodha and Jalal in the bedroom.
10. The final scene was a beautiful scene. It reminded me beautifully of the morning after SR scene.
The first romantic element
With Jodha looking to get up, and Jalal stopping her. As if he did not want anything to keep him away from Jodha ... the ultimate romantic. The authority with which he said "Aap kahin nahin jaayengi." Uff!
The true lover:
I loved Jalal asking her - how could Jodha, who could sense whether he was alive or not, could not sense that he still loved her? He was sad he did not know that he could not live or breath without her.
Jodha joked it off saying it was a classic example of him shifting the blame to her ... but we all know she knew what he said was right. And I think in her heart she always knew he loved her ... but just could not understand what was happening.
And as Jalal said, till they are breathing they will be in love, and without their love they will not be breathing. And this is the epic love we were always talking about and this track have brought them both to this epic love.
And this what makes Jodha be his support in wiping his tears as he outpours his pain on Maham Anga's betrayal ... she will always be there for him as he is for her.
The faith of love is now so strong that it will ensure that Jodha-Jalal are always there for each other ... as they will need to stand together for the upcoming tragedy of Atgah Khan's death.
But, once that faith and foundation of love is there, what is there to fear.
So, thoughts on the episode and my take?
