When the macro economy of a country is in trouble, the prime minister may have to take many decisions on various micro issues, which in the short term, may appear to be harmful to the masses, but in the longer run, are beneficial by a long shot...the masses may crib, they may cry hoarse, but when they finally reap the rewards, they ought to then realise the good intent & far sighted ness of their pm...
NOT ALL CAN HAVE FAR SIGHTED VISION, & it requires a lot of courage & intellect to effectively carry out longer term plans, in the process probably hurting near & dear ones for a short period of time...the important thing at the end of the entire exercise would be to note the INTENT...& if one has had faith during the entire exercise, the question of intent would not even arise, would it???
Completely agree with you Khushi...no one is asking jallu to be penny wise and pound foolish!! To use your own example ...when the PM and his finance minister formulate a long term economic policy at the cost of short term constraints for the masses, then the PM and finance minister explain the compulsions ("intent") behind such a strategy very clearly to the masses with the help of the print and electronic media as the consequences of not taking the public into confidence will boomerang on the government and its survival...as at the end of the day the government is accountable to the people... which brings me to the question of faith...faith is a two-way street...if the government does not show faith in the masses by keeping them in the dark and not taking them into confidence then people will alsol lose faith in the government... similarly, I feel that jallu should have handled his plan a little more responsibly by taking jodha into confidence or giving some indication that he is acting...but instead of doing that he has treated her so cruelly that she even contemplated giving up her life...had kz not been there then jo and kids would be in heaven...what is the point of this long term plan...much like a government which falls before the completion of its tenure because it has lost credibility in the eyes of the people and therefore, is not around to appreciate the outcome of its long term strategies...long term planning is necessary but short term safety measure must be in place to lessen the damage caused...
