The thing that is bad for serials is apathy. If people "don't care" about the serial then the TRPs go down. But if people either Love a serial a lot or hate it a lot that shows they have heightened emotions regarding the serial and they end up swelling the TRP numbers.

I suppose when the track is real bad people are "dying for reconciliation fast" so they watch with egareness fo the fast reconciliation. Daily they will crib, but they will still watch in hope. Also when things are very entertaining they will watch (eg. shaadi rasams, bhandaphods at jashns etc).

If people don't care what happens and they feel disengaged, then TRP drops..

Right now we are all not disengaged, we are "actively agitated", and that terrific news for TRPs!

I was thinking that we should take advantage of being an organized group and be systematic in how we approach Zee.

Different people could pose different personas (young student, chatty friend, elderly woman, etc).

Keep a tab on which strategy yields best results.

At least one person should try the confrontational approach. Not shouting, which wouldn't work, but telling them in a calm voice that unless you can talk to a high up supervisor and be assured about the future of this serial, you are going to organize a boycott of Zee's advertisers. That may get you some attention. (Don't use your normal phone for this, because they will definitely note down the number!)

No its not a waste. The PHs feel very good that the audience is eager for resolution and they feel very happy to have raised everyone's emotions. They will stretch the track a bit till the emotions are high. When they feel that people are getting to be "I don't care anymore, let Jalal and Jodha and their whole saga go to hell" and the TRPs drop at that point, they will do a quick resolution.

The tenet they all work with is: "Its better to be actively hated than to be passively tolerated."

So for my sake i am still hanging on to the hypnosis theory. And i know that is just the beginning. The cvs like to extend torture tracks so they will make jodha weep as much as ppssible and jalal will stoop as low as ever! In this hypnotic state he may be completely off jodha or his kids and be totally into atifa. So all your bravehearts whoare watching the episodes be ready to see tearjerking drama the entire week.

But a part of me also subscribes to the genuine attraction theory. Although the timing (jo's pregnancy) and the manner ( jalal going all fida) was not right. If the PH was so itching to show this aspect of history wish they had chosen a better time. Maybe after the death of the twins jalal found himself vulnerable and was attracted towards a woman would have been slightly digestible. But this is crass.

Last, this really could be the means for us to wean off from jalal -jodha and get hooked to salim-anarkali??? Hmmm anything seems possible at this stage.
