I'm beginning to wonder who among the presenters of the great historical romance Jodha Akbar has gone wrong in their enthusiasm to pitch Jodha as a spokesperson of issues -----the producer, the story writer, the director... Who?
So 16th century Jodha becomes the spokesperson of the modern century women's lib movement? So very unfortunate, that Akbar could have madly been in love with a foolishly intelligent woman such as Jodha.
Her foolish intelligence actually was reflected long back when in her enthusiasm to be the spokesperson of PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals), she put Akbar's life to risk by emptying his rifle of the bullets. And poor Akbar falls a prey to the wild claws of a tiger. And now in her enthusiasm to be the spokesperson of women's rights and women's protection movement, she is madly raving against Thodamal without being patient enough to analyze the situation. Well to talk of Shahanaaz, except for twirling her plait with a feigned stupid smile, in what way has the producer taken the trouble of establishing Shahanaz's mental disability? Jodha, being a princess, how can she lose her senses in completely trusting the young woman who has been speaking almost absolutely normal? Was real Jodha really so foolishly intelligent?
And why that epilogue by Jodha in the end, she having prejudicially defended the actually wrong doer?
