If MA, MC and Ruku were not in the serial what will we watch? and mind you these characters are not imaginative...They are real...Already EK has not added depth to characters like Atgah, AK , TM and Mann...Story keeps revolving around Jo and how she is being treated in harem what hurdles she faces ...It is ok if they show Jo overcoming these hurdles but to what extent? Why such scenes are shown? Why Ruku's F/P was shown? To show Jo in direct contrast to Ruku...
While JJ can be shown working together some times , but we should keep in mind 16th century scenario and women's role in mind...Jallu is no longer tedha...He is completely unauthoritative and just keeps staring at Jo even in DEK...Could real Jalal ever do that?...
I am not saying the villains should leave the show but their space should be limited, atleast not at the cost of lead actors and other good supporting actors. Of course even I am tired of all this harem politics, it is just useless. Less talk about the pregnancy tracks the better. It just angers me, what was the point of Ruq FP?? Jalal-Ruq relation same, he avoiding her before and he is ignoring her now. Jo-Ruq still enemies. Ruq still her stupid self. We already know the difference between Jo and Ruqaiya. More than enough instances have been shown to display their differences. Ye track dikhane ka matlab hi kya tha??
Real Jalal was far more liberal than we account him for. His court did have a very strong female presence. Infact, up until death of MA, Jalal was governed by a petticoat government. 16th century ladies might have been braver than any of us now. Young Hamida Bano boldly refused Humayun, though he was king, and she was a commoner. Humayun courted her for 40 days before she said yes (that too after a lot of pleas by Humayun's mother, HB's mom).
Can you think of such a scenario in 21st century, a girl refusing a powerful man just because she wants to and the man being courteous about it?? The rise of MA should be enough proof of Akbar's liberal sense and women breaking barriers in that day. MC begum was the ruler of Kabul. Gulbadan begum is writing her brother's memoirs in 16th century. Women were much more than wives and mothers even then. Sorry if it comes across too harsh, I just had a point to raise.
