Hi All- Welcome back to another edition of Take 5 ... Again, thanks for the support and posts to my thread even as I am not able to respond to them individually. Sorry for the delay in posting- was not home for the original telecast and waited for the repeat.
Let me start with a funny thought before I go to my Take 5- I was just imagining what must be happening these days in the CV team room. They must be in severe pressure to bring the show up to no. 1. So they think- when were we No. 1 last - bring in a weird woman, have a MU between Jodha and Jalal, Make Jodha right, Make Jalal wrong and guilty, have him shed tears in the dargah ... And there we have it, the perfect recipe for being no. 1 ... Sounding familiar? 😉
But, then when I remembered the Dhakka / the Ben , I remembered an old post that brought a smile to my face ... It was from the Ben track ... When the forum was going through similar conflicts ... I would invite you to read it ... It is by MoronsKiMallika ... I wish she was still part of the Jodha Akbar forum today ... She would have given some wise perspective to understand what both Jodha and Jalal are going through. Here is the link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3861135. 😊
Okay, with that digression, here is today's take 5 is dedicated to Neena (happygolucky099) - for efficiency, I am combining some fun takes in between:
(1) Earnestness of Jalal's search: CVs are going to all extent to show that without tiring, Jalal is searching for his Jodha. He is going all stops. I am not sure I understand why he released some troops ... But I think over time they are showing it evolving from a mass search effort ... To a solo journey of Jalal finding his Jodha as he goes in disguise in Mathura as per the precap.
(2) Shehenaz becomes a new translator for Jodha: She says I can read in your face and eyes that your heart is broken.. Somehow, when she lifted in stone as the broken heart ... I felt she was actually lifting Jalal's broken heart and giving it to Jodha... But, then I realized, that Jodha and Jalal's heart are one - they are both broken. How does it matter whose heart it is?
And, if anyone was wondering where the girl was from, we got a major clue? Where else would she have learned eye reading? Amer! Just kidding. 😉
But, definitely she has a link to Jalal ... I wonder if she is yearning to find her True love... And has seen images of someone like Jalal in her dream ... She will think Jalal is the one for her and try to separate him from reaching Jodha ... See how well Ekta Kapoor has trained me? Oh wait, this is a historical- can this happen? 😆
(3) Jodha's response to where her husband was: I found it very symbolic when she said her husband was on a journey ... Because he is very much on a yatra to find her.
(4) A heartfelt prayer from Jalal: As always, I admire Jalal for his humility and honesty of heart. And no surprises, when he openly admits his mistake to his mom, his in-laws, that he would do it with God. Obviously, there were parallels with the scene where he prays for Jodha's recovery but the song and him joining in the dance made it different. He wants to be as close to God as possible to understand the path to his Jodha Begum.👏
And I was thinking, Rajat probably heard that most thought his first dance was not as good as the movie version and wanted to try it again. So folks, what did we think this time? 😆
(5) Precap: Two things I like about the precap
- Destination arrived: Jodha and Jalal both in Mathura
- Jalal in his Badal avatar (slimmed down version) - now, the question is when will they start behaving like Badal and Kajri?
An observation, how many clothes did Jodha fit in that potli? So far, I am counting two! That is impressive! 😆
And by the way, I totally relate to shopping to shake of depression- I do it all the time! And, I am serious about this one.
Sidenote: And this is where I continue to say CVs are doing Jodha a big disservice ... There are many people in the forum who are spending hours translating what Jodha is doing and saying. The ordinary viewer will not ... So, it is the job of the CVs to convey what Jodha is thinking- the viewer is not a like an English student who analyzes apart every line of a novel.
For example, when Jalal says something but does something contradictory, e.g., I trust you and then sends troops to follow Jodha, he has a voice-talk, "Forgive me Jodha, It is not that I do not trust you, but it is because of my worry for your safety."
Couldn't they do similar justice to Jodha? "While I am smiling and trying to be normal, I just can't forget you Shehenshah."
I will assume there is sadness in her eyes ... But CVs, dialogues are made for a reason and you can definitely give Jodha better ones that reflect her conflicted state of mind.
To show that Jodha is always on Jalal's mind, yesterday when he sees the Banjaran making chapathi, he remembers Jodha. How beautiful! When I saw Jodha observing Shehnaaz pray in the Muslim way, How I wished she would remember Jalal or her learning to do the same from him.
She could have shaken it off a minute later and said, " Why do I keep thinking of him when I want to forget him and move on." But still it would have shown how Jalal continues to be in her thoughts.
CVs, you can do a better job with my Jodha! I want equal depth shown for both Jodha and Jalal- and they are showing the depth of Jalal's pain and love more when it is not like Jodha's pain and love is any less.
Ah, that was a lot longer than I wanted ... But, it was exactly what I wanted to share!
Please leave your thoughts, likes, and notes and hope as always this thread brought a smile to your face at some point.
