Yesterday the romantic scene was a bit overboard and looked uncomfortable between JA.
There was no need to show so much of rmance at one go if both are uncomfortbale.
I wished that Jalal do not cry so much, he was crying like a school boy caught by mommy fudging marks sheet rather than a lover with regret. Her writers must never forget this is Akbar the great not some 21st centrury metro male to cry so much or show his tears. Not that Akbar never cried but may be not for silly reasons like telling Jo to leave palace. I mean his eyes can go red or maybe a teardrop but buckets never. The real Akbar was very well known to mask any emotions.
Now let me come to romantic scene. I think the dialogues could have been better actions even better and kissing tears off should not have been shown. Mang tikka kiss was fine which Jalal does to Salima, Ruqaiah, Bakshi etc.
Its not like i do not approve of romance in 16th century serial but the scene looked a bit overdone and the leads were uncomfortable. And everytime jodha's nose ring came in the way. Even if Akbar had kissed off her tears she should not have kissed it and left off with a hand kiss.
The most romantic scene on indian silver screen ever in 100+ years has been the mughal-e-azam scene where salim caresses anarkali with a peackock feather. And this is not my take its been said by viwers in many votes. What i mean to say is that if two people are comfortbale with each otherr they can make even mundane scenes like caressing with feather the most romantic scene in world.
Same way writers could have written better romantic scene which leads would be comfortable doing. I feel jalal-ruqaiah have that charisma and romance to make mundane hugs look so romantic and so dil-se. May be because they are childhood friends or may be the actors are more comfortable. During child marriage issue when Ruqu wrote letter to Humayun and salima reads it to akbar just watch the hug, or when ruqu comes back safe from ben kidnap case. Its natural and looks like husband kissing wife or lovers kissing each other. Here that passion that spontaniety missing.
So writers could have made scene more better by leaving out kissing and putting other emotional aspects. Like when bharamal fell on his knees akbar feel on his to give respect to a father-in-law. Jodha should have knelt down and they should have conversed. Hug would suffice rather than kiss. They should have talked more like Akbar asking why you did not tell me truth? I would have forgiven sujamal if you told before only or Jodha saying very sorry i hide truth from you, i was bound by vacahan.
Both could have said sorry same time akbar could have avoided meeting her eyes in shame. Jodha could have held his hand to comfort him. etc etc
Anyways i can go on about the scene but let the CVs think and do better work next time. CVs tend to forget this is 16th century romance not loud all subtle and just looking at eyes or seeing bangles people fell in love in those times.
