On one hand he knows jodha cant do anything wrong on the other he cant disbelief his eyes as well. As per 16th century standards he was more than enough liberal but he is not a saint tht tht he cant even doubt if he sees anything with his own eyes. Even bharmal called jodha a kalank when she went to meet surya.
