According to the book "Akbar and the rise of Mughal empire" Jodha Bai was Akbar's Fifth Begum and she was a jodhpur princess.

My historical knowledge is obviously not as extensive as yours. But I remember that one the books had confused Jahangir's wife for Akbar. Maybe it the same book that you quote.
It was Jahangir's wife who was know as Jodha Bai and she was the mother of Shah Jahan. And this name Jodha Bai mistakenly began to be used for Harka Bai, the daughter of Raja Bharmal.

Hey no the book I am talking about states that Jodha Bai (Mariam Uz Zamani)was the Mother of Jahangir.

From what I know, Akbar did not marry any Rajput princess named Jodha Bai. This is what I have learned from most books that I have read.
This is also the view of the unofficial chief historian of our forum, Abhay(History Geek). He has written many posts on Akbar and Mariam Uz Zamani's life.

okay. Thank You for the information. If you want to know the actual history read "Akbarnama by Abul Fazl" that was written by one of the nine jewels in the presence of Akbar himself. This is the only true thing about Akbar existing in this world.

Badauni also was a a historian in Akbar's court. He was a hardline cleric and he hated Akbar, so his viewpoint makes for an interesting comparison with Abul Fazl. Badauni has written many colorful things about Birbal and the high regard that Akbar had for him.

I welcome you to this forum. I would recommend that you read "History Geek's" posts on Mughal history. They are most instructive.

I mean historically accurate, since digital media has created lot of distortions in the history of Akbar and Mariam Zamani/Heera Kunwari/Harka Bai. Mostly for communal and commercial reasons.
