The analysis is delightful to read as usual but I have been disappointed by this week's episode. It is not the content as such, it is Rajat's appearance.
The royal dress hides his excess weight but the beard and Seth ji look accentuates it.
Rajat is putting his own future as an actor at risk. In this era of scientific nutrition and six packs, to be overweight as a lead actor is a major handicap.
His height is lower than average, so he already is at a disadvantage. The weight thing is a double whammy. No amount of great acting can overcome it. I don't want him to be unemployed after Jodha Akbar ends.
The worst thing is he is portraying Akbar as fat when it was not so. We already have the image of a portly Akbar in numerous comics and books, thanks to Prithviraj Kapoor's Akbar in Mughal-e-Azam.
Rajat is adding to the stereotype.
Of course this situation is easily remediable provided Rajat understands that there is a problem and he needs to rectify it. Not one or two hours in the gym but a holistic scientific approach to weight cutting.
