CVs, are you trying to save on expenses and have a harem war instead of the real thing out in some maidan e jung? Because these domestic situations are not exactly riveting to watch. I don't want to see Jalal and Jodha pre-occupied with love tiffs for 4 weeks. A day is fine, no more.

So to bring back some sanity to the proceedings, all you need do is get the Wazir e Aliya to report to Jalal on the state of the horses...or the state of the army barracks...or some rumblings in the Sultanate that need his attention. Just one sentence from her in between discussing the temperature of each Begum will do wonders. Jalal will rush out of the harem and breathe some fresh air, Jodha will automatically discover why she has fallen for him. A wife likes to know that her husband is capable and efficient. Jodha will have flashbacks of more exciting times they had, out in freak snowstorms and hunting tigers. All the claustrophobia of the harem will vanish. Hamida Banu will smile knowingly once she sees that things are going the way they are supposed to. Salima Begum will sigh with relief and have a holiday till the next harem crisis.

Now if Benazir is going to turn the harem into a staging post for political intrigue and an attempt on the Emperor's life then hurry up! Get on with it! This is not some home in the suburbs, this is the centre of Mughal power. Jalal and Jodha need to be shown to be aware of the responsibilities they have along with the power. They don't have the luxury of stretching a misunderstanding like chewing gum for weeks! They need to man up and woman up and put things behind them and move on! Because CVs, you may have thought the audience will travel with you, but that is not going to happen. In all lives, outside events have a way of interrupting plans. And in Jalal's court at Agra, a hundred different state matters should have served to distract him and his chief Begums.

Whoever who sent Benazir from Kabul didn't know that all they really had to do was start a tu tu main main fight in the harem and the Sultanate would become theirs.

come on CVs...please.

Claustrophobia is right! That's the perfect way to describe how I feel about the tracks lately. I have cabin fever; they need to move the show to a new setting!

Amen to that ! 👏
Apparently we are the only ones who are finding the need for wars. Or has EK appointed her usual saas-bahu script writers? No wonder we have had only kitchen politics tracks.

well folks, I'm sure there are many who are scratching their heads wondering how Jalal is suddenly spending days and days in the harem. We were shown so much at the start of the show to build a foundation for the epic love story. But somewhere along the line, CVs have conveniently forgotten that these are two royal personages who are man and wife because of some extreme political circumstances. Jodha put her whole future on the line for her kingdom. She had little choice in the matter and that is exactly how royalty behaved in those days.
Equally, Jalal has to consider how he behaves in the harem a little more carefully. He is someone with immense and far reaching powers. One word, one gesture from him can be interpreted in many ways. Ekta is majoring on MUs between a couple, but there were far more serious issues to have misunderstandings about when it came to Jalal and his every move. His grace and favour were sought by hundreds in the court.

I'm sure they can balance this out a bit more and rather than focusing on this fight with a microscope, they can pull back a bit and show us the bigger picture and that will do a lot to make this royal love story believable. They should never lose their grip on the Jalal they started with. If they can remember to do that, all the other characters will automatically fall into line. Because everybody takes their cues from him. He has to set the example and the tone.

Thats my major issue with EK and her team. They gave us something so good at the beginning, which means that they are very much capable of delivering good stuff, then why should we settle for below average stuff now?
They need to pull up their socks, like right now.

Absolutely @disha15.
CVs are capable. The actors are very capable. They have already proved that they can produce a great show befitting the subject matter, even though it's not easy. But why do they have to start changing the characterisation of the Shahenshah ???? If they do that with him, then no one is safe !!

No wonder viewers are holding their heads in their hands and taking asprin. Or skipping it for the sake of their mental and emotional health.

Their disclaimer will have to include another 5 minutes of explanations that their 'Akbar' bears no resemblance to the historical Akbar and any such resemblance is purely coincidental.

True that!
Here he is not Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar I but just Harem-Mein-Phas-Gaya-Bichara. The Harem is truly claustrophobic.
Loved your post!
