Jalal knew very well that his begum doesn't give opportunity for her parents worry about Jodha & Jalal's rista. If she had chosen to not wear the gift given by Jalal in front of the entire Amer parivar, every one would have come to know about the darar in their rista which she is not ready to show to her maa. Till such time she is in Amer, she will follow all his hukums without any retort even if she is seething with rage. So he has cleverly chosen the opportunity to make Jodha wear his favorite colour without any back talk.

That is why he used those words " I love green colour and that too on Jodha Begum" which was a taunt for JOdha though others are too happy to know that Jodha is so much in love with her husband that she is even wearing the colour she most hated in her life.
