Hi, my dad's side is from Karnataka. But my great grandparents moved to Mumbai. I am Konkani from my dad's side (the Deepika Padukone type konkani, not goa type) and grew up talking Konkani. My mom's from Maharashtra, so pretty okay at Marathi too. So does that count as 50% South indian?

Ofcourse I do Shraddha. I remember your lovely posts from Ruk Jaana Nahi days. My cousins grew up in Chennai and I have met a few Maharashtrians who migrated to Tamilnadu centuries ago.
Well for my kids it gets even more confusing. My husband is the reverse combination as me and my kids are born and brought up in the US.
Bye for now... Need to get back to work. Will check your wonderful analysis during my lunch hour.
