the duplicate of maham is another trick of maham herself .actually while maham visits akbar mother and ruqaaiya's aunt , she learns from that akbars father too used a duplicate to save akbar and his rule..this in turn gave maham an idea to escape the punishment..and she escaped through the secret mirror door.
