After seeing PRC i had to comment!😆
@rose :well PRC was "ideal" in every way(in the show ).. As an Emperor ,a son,a brother, a lover ,a friend and a husband! The Ideal guy! Hope i don't get struck by the lightning or something for this but i think he deserves the tag of "Maryada purushotam" more than Ram ! :P

So it's useless to compare him to anyone else! dont kill me Hardcore Akbar fans!😆

PRC was lovable, but Jalal has his own charm. Plus, I think it's his goodness that led him to his tragic end..One should Not be so good.. I remember feeling so awful and crying so much for Prithvi.. when his father, friends died.. when he died..for Sanyo😭

Atleast Akbar did not meet a tragic end..

he is mourning because he has lost both his child, his unknown feelings, his trust on her selfishness, his dreams everything that a person can emotionally attach with..
On a funny note: hamida is sad though very little may be not because Jalal has lost his child but ecause the opportunities to revive his dead heart via the unborn child and jodha are lost.. well now really I am being mean to her..😛

On a very serious note: I really like your take and agreed with each and every point where I also could not but had to agreed with kai's points too. You both analysed his attitude to jodha from two different Povs and both are valid in their own way. The forum people are really very intelligent and solvent to every emotional turmoil..😊

well I don't think so...he started admiring her before this fiasco. And he was quite enjoying his emotions...I think he would have been same...after all it is the matter of his child

Dear Lashy,

You are absolutely correct about this. This was of course my take on Jalal-Jodha in my Wuthering Depths post. This is also why the Rhett-Scarlett comparison holds, though Jodha is no Scarlett, and they are guaranteed a happy ending, unlike the other pair.

Incidentally, since you liked my earlier attempt at lines for Jodha, and you seem to have missed my latest on Episode 59, at
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/jodha-akbar/3728576/jodha-akbar-59-a-change-of-perspective
Do look it up for my take on how the old Jodha would have tackled the new Jalal. You will enjoy it much more than that last one!

Besides that, if you have the time for it, do also take a look at a very interesting thread of Mansi's, where I have written a detailed post on Jalal's psyche. There is also a fascinating comparison by Rose, between Rhett Butler and the dead Bonnie, his very young daughter, and Jalal and his dead child. It is absolutely spot on.

A small point in defence of Jalal!

Lastly, my dear, thanks a lot for sparing me a good bit of typing by sorting out the misconceptions about Anne Boleyn's trial, and Thomas Cromwell's role in that. You were accurate, clear and to the point. There are not many who would have been able to do that, and I was impressed.

treated her and her family this way?

I'd think - NO!

He would have been angry/hurt and vengeful no doubt...however, something tells me he would have been a tad bit fairer and a tad bit more level-headed in taking his decisions...He would have allowed the 10 day period to prove their innocence with lesser disgruntlement...also, he would not have traipsed into his/her chamber/prison just to anguish them...

He just can't stand the fact that he'd begun admiring a girl who hated him and thus misused his trust - that's all! This is a man who had any girl running to him at his very beck and call (bar Ruq). Its for the first time that this Casanova was making an unwitting effort in getting close to a girl. Hence, all of this is a big blow to his MALE EGO - to his head and his heart!
Something tells me that he would have taken the kesar facts into consideration (somewhat) if it had been anyone else other than Jodha...
He is behaving this irrationally and refusing to see reason ONLY because it is Jodha 😛.

Precisely like how Jodha behaves irrationally ONLY when it comes to Jalal...she sees only what SHE wants to see and believes only what SHE wants to believe...

Basically, our hero and heroine love getting on each other's nerves!!!

Ah Yes! He was sort of responsible for his own death! Tragic Indeed! Wish Sanyo was more like Jodha though. All she did was cry ..haha let me not go there !And im happy that Akbar did not end up like Prithvi did! Jalal definitely has his own charm and that is why we love him the way we do!

My dear young ladies,

I too do not want to go into the Prithviraj track, which I had thrashed out on the Ruqaiya a Forgotten enigma thread some time back, but I have to make a point.

It was not just that He was sort of responsible for his own death.

His life was his to give away if he so chose. But after the first battle of Tarain in 1191, by not executing or even imprisoning Mohammed Ghori, Prithviraj not only brought defeat on himself at the hands of Ghori at the second battle of Tarain in 1192. He left his kingdom and subjects, and in fact the large part of North India, exposed to the looting and destruction and wanton cruelty of Ghori and his soldiers. It was an irresponsible act of his in 1191, and he went against his own Rajadharma, to disastrous effect for hundreds of thousands on innocents, whose safety was his responsibilty.

@Super Kool...yes we do mirror each other in every thread...
I loved this statement of yours...
he is also mourning the death of an unknown feeling...a feeling that had started taking shape in his supposedly dead heart...
looks like this serial is turning all of us into poets

@ Shyamala aunty...reading what Alakh had posted - extracts from your post..I simply have NOTHING else to add...since anything else would either detract from its value or only be a repetition...
as for your post mentioned above...Yes dear..I am yet to read it...since I was writing away this weekend (my ss) I'm yet to come back to read your thread...I will do so and reply by Monday 😳
