Well, kids, I have been clinging to a stray log of wood for the last 20 minutes or so, trying not to get swept away by this flood of tears, but I am surprised and a tad disappointed at the near total absence of logic in all this mourning by such a bunch of normally bright young ladies. In fact, I cannot remember when I lastsaw such a bunch of unreasonable and unreasoning crybabies!

Let us take the facts,

1) We have the rare advantage of knowing, with cast iron certainty, that not even Ekta Kapoor can change the basic story line, that Jodha and Jalal will fall in love and stay that way till the end of their days. Unlike in the standard soap, Jodha is not going to get married to someone else ,after divorcing Jalal by pretending to hate him, all for some mahaan reason that has to do with his bhalayi😉.

So it is also clear that nothing on earth is going to happen to Jodha - from been chundofied in yet another wall (Akbar's masons practicing for the future Anarkali track😉😉) to being beheaded by Jalal in one fell sweep of blind rage. In fact I do not even think she will be imprisoned, for once she is there, how will she extricate herself? If she is cast into prison, it will be strictly for a few days.

Where then is the need for all this deep mourning? You should all instead sit up and prepare to enjoy yourselves at the edifying spectacle of the CVs tying themselves in knots trying to square the circle, or rather the chakravyuh of the truly damning evidence against Jodha. For rescued she will be, and in a way that not only proves her innocent, but gives her a nice, burnished halo in Jalal's eyes

2) As things stand, it is clear that the time has come for Mansingh to prove his mettle and rescue his buasa. The kid is far more realistic and a lot less moralistic than apni Jodha, witness the way in which he fixes Adham Khan in front of Jalal , whereas in the same situation, Jodha would have said, with lofty preachiness, usko kuch bhi bolne do, ham apna man kyon maila karen?

He, like me, has a good, sharp and naturally suspicious mind, and he might well achieve what Jodha cannot. In fact he has to, for I can see no other option at present, for Bhagwan Das, his brother and his two cousins have a collective IQ of less that 200😉.

When Mansingh has done this, Jalal will be eternally grateful to him, not only for nailing the culprit, but even more so for restoring his faith in Jodha. For it is that sense of being betrayed that hurts him, almost as much as the loss of his child.

I was glad to see that among all this lamenting, none of you has blamed Jalal for believing that it was Jodha who had done it. Confronted with that pile of evidence, not even a saint would have exculpated Jodha. Young Mansingh has his task cut out for him, and he had better look sharp!

The man who is confronting jodha is a distraught father...not the emperor...the empror in jalal will soon take control...I am sure, jodha will be given a chance to prove her innocence...at least, this what logic says...he gave moti Bai an opportunity to tell her side of story...why will he deprive his 'begum' of her rights...??? The bigger problem is how is jodha gonna prove that she is innocent??? Maham has made an air tight case against her...

I m just taking about the show...at the time of Ram there prevailed the same custom...his father Dashrath also had 3 wives but Ram didn't marry any other woman than Sita...

Lord Rama was the exception, my dear Neha. That is why his being an ek patni vrat was so highly lauded; it was unheard of among royalty. The common folk of course had only one wife, if only because the proportion of men to women in any normal population is roughly 50:50, and there would hardly have been any large number of extra women available for multiple marriages😉!

Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, a contemporary of Jalal's if much older, also had 3 wives,and as late as in the 19th century and early 20th century, the Maharajas had very many wives. Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur was a third wife too, if I am not mistaken, at all events not the first. But she was the favourite wife.

@aunty...oh yes!! Maan Singh...I had absolutely forgotten about him...he can and should be the one who comes to jodha's rescue...time for some serious action...

One more thing...jalal was very reluctant in accepting that evidences were well and truly against jodha begum..his warning to Khwaja shera...cmon, this woman is his pregnant wife's main doc...this shows that the woman is a very trusted one...still he questions her... and threatens that she will be killed if proven wrong...or be it going to ruk's chamber...I was rather surprised that he didn't immediately set out for jodha's chamber...the woman is after all, accused of killing a royal baby...

@Suvi

bdw When Jalal said.. how could you do this to me..I think he was more hurt than angry.

Aunty.. I'm getting swayed away by my emotions. Last weeks my hopes were all high.. They were beginning to trust each other. Ek kadam aage to do kadam peeche!
