Today's episode was a regressive crap fest.
Arshi is all about her and her alone. It isn't about Ani at all for her. He is just a trophy she lost to Jhanak. Even now her issue is that everything is spoiled because of a maid instead of working out the problems and holding her lover accountable. It shows Women can be the worst enemy for another woman. What are these people showing?
Tejas is a mighty confident man. I wish I had 1/10th of his confidence in everyday life. How he assumes Jhanak will accept his proposal even now is beyond me. Either that or he knows Jhanak's psyche enough to think she will eventually end up with him because of the situations he created. He Challenges her and leaves with swag leaving wedding invitations verbally about his and hers. In any case, Kudos to him man! He is Suave. Can't deny that.
Ani tries his best to explain things to Arshi, and he is shocked that she doesn't listen. He is just a dumb prop for the rest of the scene, only shock and no reaction.
And what is with these Basus? They don't blame their ladla and only take it out on Jhanak. Why? They also even go to the point of degrading her dead mother. Nothing more to say. Eff you Bipasha and Lal, Tanuja and Shubo; and double eff you, Tammi. Such a vile shameless old hag.
I absolutely felt disgusted at how Shubo insulted Urvashi who is no longer in this world. Jhanak stays silent. Ani did not step up to stop his dad. I felt it would have been better had he dropped her in some shelter home instead of bringing her here and subject her to this. As I said before, Ani is a pacifist and tends to maintain the status quo on utilitarian values. What is the point in supporting her this much only to let her suffer at the hands of his family at the most important moment? I am disappointed in you Ani.
Chotton, Appu and her mom are the positive factors today. The way Appu held Jhanak for comfort as she was being humiliated by the family. She is such a pure soul.
Chotton has one scene today and that was the most important dialogue of the day, "Saach der taak nahi chupta, tumhe sach se darne ki koi zarrorat nahi hai". Yes, truth always comes out and cannot be suppressed. It reminds me of a dialogue from Imlie where Adi says to Imlie in a similar scenario, that truth is like the sun. It cannot be suppressed and will be seen eventually. Happy to see at least some of the family is sane still. Jhanak takes a look at Ani as Chotton talk about the truth. I wonder what her feelings were at that point.
Bodomaa brings food to Jhanak at late night and ask about her well-being. She is the mother to Jhanak after Urvashi's departure. I am growing to love their bond as much as Jhanak's bond with Appu and Chotton. These delightful parts of Jhanak outside of the lead pair keep me excited to watch.
Jhanak is so depressed and in denial. She finally opens up to Bodo Maa on what she wanted to do with her life in the past. It's kind of disheartening to see again and again how much Jhanak has lost in life and is now purposeless. I can understand why she feels she has sinned, as Ani is strictly introduced as and always has been her cousin's would-be. We all know this, Jhanak will never willingly pursue any feelings she might realize for Ani at this point, even worse after the party fiasco. Even after Bodo Maa questions the events as to why Ani and Jhanak care for and sacrifice so much for each other, she remains committed to her stance and assures Bodo Maa that it is only his good nature, and that this marriage has always been fake. She also says she only is indebted to him. It's good that more people are starting to sense the disconnect between the words and emotions between these two. I find this scene to be parallel to Ani and Chotton's scene in the party. Like how Chotton is an emotional support for Ani, I feel Bodo Maa will become the emotional support to Jhanak to whom she can be fully open in the future.
One interesting thing is the way Jhanak denied to Bodo Maa that Ani doesn't feel anything for her and only loves Arshi reminds me of how Ani is so sure that Rahul is Jhanak's bf. These two are made for each other. Ani denies his feelings for Jhanak citing humanity and Jhanak denies her feelings for Ani citing the same.
These two have a long way to go....
One the parallel, we have the Mukherjee family talking about what is going to happen now. Shristi is an example of a more liberal example of helicopter parenting, forcing Arshi to answer if she is going to marry Ani or not. She also gives suggestions on how to bring Ani back to her side if she decides to go ahead with the marriage. Mother of the century.
. Motherhood is said to be the epitome of selflessness, but Shristi is a rare example of a super selfish mom. I felt today she only cares about Arshi as an extension of herself, what a narcissist. She kept talking about how the media would make issues out this would probably push Arshi to take the decision she made in the precap. The way she spits vitriol against Urvashi-Jhanak; it's more than just insecurity towards their talent. The way she said to Vinayak about Urvashi creating the same problems as Jhanak is doing now to Arshi hints to me that there was something similar that happened. Either there was a love triangle with Guruji (honestly distasteful to think) or some other guy that chose Urvashi over Shristi and she has been jealous ever since and plotted to bring about her downfall when she made a mistake. I hope makers show about this in the future. Vinayak probably was not the first choice for her concerning marriage, seeing how she behaves with him. Vinayak has been the most sensible of the three and from today's episode, I don't know how he will react towards Jhanak.
As for Arshi, I can understand how she is feeling now, but I have zero sympathy for her considering how she is okay with selling her cousin to a monster like Tejas without remorse only for the fact it will ease her insecurity. Today also she had the gall to look angry when Jhanak said she would rather die than be with Tejas. WTH woman? Being a woman who is so woke about being modern and career-oriented and shit, this is your thoughts about such a horrible issue?
Precap makes her look even more of an ugly human being. She demands Ani obey her every command instead of communicating maturely and working to reach a compromise/walking away completely. On top of this to punish Jhanak for ruining her wedding party she tried unaliving herself on purpose and get her arrested. I have no word for this horrid woman. Like mother like daughter. Enough said.
I guess we still have to deal with more regressive crap this week. Brace yourselves well ladies!
