This topic will only be restricted to Remo, his two chelas- Salman and Puneet and maybe, other choreographers associated with him. In no point of discussion will the celebrities be involved.
So, Is Remo a good judge?
I have been following him from DID times. Honestly, I never never ever found his choreography great or extraordinary. Infact, I didn't even know him before DID. How many movies has he choreographed? I hardly remember them. Infact, all the fame and stature he has now is all because of DID. So why is he considered as the best choreographer in India currently?
Rather, I love Bosco- Ceasar in the same genre of dance. And if I explore out of his genre, we have Saroj Khan, Vaibhavi Merchant, Terrence Lewis, Farah Khan, Ganesh Acharya, Prabhu deva, who are far more better than him.
Now, coming to the case of Salman and Punit.
Salman, the first winner of DID was in his team. According to me, Salman is an absolutely wonderful dancer. I 'had' never seen such a fabulous dancer in India like him, till he appeared in DID. So, was Remo the reason behind the success of Salman or was Salman a self made talent? I prefer the latter answer, because after Salman, Remo hasn't been able to bring out a wonderful dancer.
Next case- Punit.
Now, I might be a little biased in this verdict, but I simply do not like him. Never have I liked his dance. Infact, I was quite shocked when Punit landed up in the finals of DID that year. But actually, that year, Remo had some of the weakest dancers of DID. So nevermind.
However, I find Punit quite creepy, kind of like giving me creepy vibes.😆 And I find his dance equally creepy. At this point I have to admit, when I watched ABCD, Punit's first dance was super creepy. I could feel the hair standing up on my arms in a scary way.😆
But inspite of it, I feel that he may be a good choreographer. Why? Case in point, last season, when he danced along with Shibhani dandekar. I used to absolutely love her dancing and was quite sad when she got out.
So my ultimate question is- Is Remo a fair judge?
No, because I have felt numerous times that he favors Salman and Punit, his Chelas as I like to call them. And this is not just restricted to this season, it has been happening from the time Remo became a judge and goes as back as DID. Infact, I actually feel sorry for the other choreographers who work equally hard and yet, get half of what they deserve.
