I am always happy with Salman and Tushar's choreography. They are two great choreographers who really connect and reach out to me. Though Tushar is a great find this season I still adore Salman because he has put forth some of the best dances in JDJ.
The two can not be compared and I think Salman is trying his best with Drashti while Tushar is doing the same with Ekta. It's sad though that he is getting so much hatred this season because of his partner.

It's all about perception. Certain dance styles and forms are much harder to do and pick up than others.

I think with Salman, he never really pushes Drashti. That A.Tango part was horrid. I've seen people do much better A.Tangos and he def could have done so much more with it. Whereas, Tushar's steps for Ekta were harder but she lacked the energy and expressions to form them to perfection.

It's not a blame game, but your job as a choreographer is to try something and difficult every time and push your partner. I think Tushar is pushing Ekta more than Salman is pushing Drashti. When I saw alman-Isha last season I was stunned and I was so excited to know Salman was paired with Drashti b/c the paso with Isha last season was spell-binding. But this year's A.Tango was massively disappointing for me.

And I disagree with you about the message thing...you should never get more points for having a good message in a performance. That message can be applauded but points only for form and technique.

lol DD is not a non dancer? Who says? She has even taught dance to kids before she came in acting so yeah she knows how to dance. While Ekta is a complete non-dancer.. so why bring her in this and compare the 2 of them.

If some people like Tushar better than Salman or vice versa its there call, no need to make it an argument or to prove the other opinion wrong. Plus personally this season I feel Salman is not up to his game. His performances are not getting a 'wow' reaction from me. Same goes to Punit.

no doubt salmaan n DD both r trying to put more than 100% in their performance.i hv said this earlier also ki its only time that they need to polish DD dance moves n they r hardly getting any time for practice but still they managed to pull some good marks. yesterday's performance was second best performance after kids. n DD is a non dancer, so i think its all on salmaan;s shoulders to bring out best from drashti. hats off to salmaan, he is really doing good job.

She used to teach children BW dances...IMO BW dancing isn't really dancing. Even Abhishek Bachchan BW dances. However, the dance styles their learning our NEW to them so you can compare. As for Ekta, I think she's good and has beautiful grace in her steps but she doesn't express it. Look at Meghna, also a non-dancer but her expressions are always there and she dances with energy. Even if you're a bad dancer, but if you can play the part of an angry woman in the Paso, a passionate lover in the Rumba, or a party woman in the samba you can get away with a lot. 😆

But I agree with your 2nd paragraph.

No, I respectfully disagree with this part, I think BW dancing is also dancing in its own way, as long as you do any kind of dance you pick things/ techniques up and you start to understand how to position your body according to it. Plus DD has been doing dance performances for quite sometime now, and has participated in a dance reality show of Saroj Khan (the name's escaping me: Nach something) so she's had proper experience with dancing before, so yeah I believe she does know dance as she has more experience with it than Ekta.

Plus I feel Ekta is a bit woody or too nervous to open herself. I hope Tushar brings out the actress in her in her dance performances. Also, in the acting arena I feel she is really new and has a lot to learn in it so her expressions do not come out as smoothly and beautifully as Meghna's. More exposure and experience is what she needs to cultivate the talent inside of her.

Maybe I was too harsh on BW dancing, but I feel like you can get away with sloppiness in BW dancing. However, in Latin dances, ball room dances, and traditional/classical Indian dances you need a lot of good leg work and posture. Plus, your core (abs area) has to be strong and tight for all the lifts and stuff. If you're speaking about exposure then I agree with what youre saying. Ekta is still probably stage frightening.

But Drashti hasn't really been trained in Latin, ball room, classical etc. hence her feet look weird at times when she does leaps and lifts and stuff. That's what I meant by the difference b/w BW and other styles. There isn't the same amount of discipline or focus on forms and lines IMO.

Agree with the rest on Ekta and Meghna. Like I said, if Ekta can work on the expressions, she's good to go. Her Jiya jale was very good.
