i'm watching the devdas act again and gurmeet's expressions just leave me spell bound!! this performance would have received a standing ovation if it was an event 'celebrating 100 years of cinema'... because the concept truly represented that... unfortunately gurmeet's brilliant expressions and his painful portrayal of devdas was wasted in JDJ... i seriously wish this performance was done at a different platform... then gurmeet would have received the appreciation he deserves... the same people who are criticizing it here would have applauded it in a stage show... but this is a dance competition and i hope shampa realizes that she needs to understand gurmeet's strengths and weaknesses as a dancer to be able to do him and herself justice... people have huge expectations from her because of last year... but this year she will have to design performances that will showcase gurmeet's dance... gurmeet has to shoot 12 hours for PV and will not be able to help her with conceptualizing the acts... she will have to do it and make sure that gurmeet delivers... the lack of finesse in steps by gurmeet should have been noticed and corrected in the rehearsals itself... i hope next week will be better... i hope gurmeet and shampa do not weeken with the criticism but derive strength from it...
