Over 100 Test wickets, an alternative career as a ramp model beckoning, rumours of romantic liaisons with social butterflies. At 26, Zaheer Khan has the cake and is getting to eat it too.
While cricket obviously remains his first love, it is by no means his only infatuation. If in 2003, Zaheer's alleged link-up with model and actress Gauhar Khan got the rumour mills going, the grapevine was abuzz with the new Khan in his life - Rakshanda - for much of 2004.
"I know her. Period." A diplomatic explanation is not surprising though
"I guess its part of the package deal that comes with being a celebrity. You go out and meet people, so these things are bound to happen. I am not bothered though. And the sad part is that most rumours are not true," says Zaheer with a naughty smile.
