UPDATE 13 AUGUST: Sight-seeing

After their trip to the monastery, JandA are left with only one thing to do—but this last is certainly not the least…..shopping!!

They wander down the main market, packed with shops full of Tibetan silks, handicrafts, music, charms, jewellery and spices. The first things Jassi buys are, of course, the special herbal tea and incense ordered by Meghna. Before paying, she thinks for a second and buys two more packets of the tea.

Armaan: Yeh kisliye?

Jassi: Ek tumhare liye….aur ek Papaji ke liye. Tum Gulmhour se thake-haare ghar aaoge, tab isse pi kar relax ho jaoge, aur Papaji ko tum jaante hi ho….chhot-chhoti baaton ko le kar pareshaan ho jaate hai….toh unke liye bhi ek packet….

(Umm umm….stop with the endorsements Sony!)

McLeodganj has shops upon shops of silver jewellery, and Jassi goes ecstatic upon seeing the finely-crafted pieces. Armaan watches as she tries on a delicate chain with a pendant that has two entwined fishes, studded with semi-precious stones.

Jassi: (uncertainly) Armaan….ye mujh par kaisa lag raha hai?

Armu: Tum par toh har cheez achchi lagti hai….

Jassi: Be serious Armaan…mujhe decide karna hai ki isse lu ki nahin….

Armu: Umm….ek kaam karte hai….pehle le lete hai, phir baad mein decide karenge ki theek kiya ki nahin….isse pack kar dijiye please (ignoring Jassi's weak protets)

The pretty Tibetan girl hides a smile as she carefully wraps the piece in soft cloth.

At another shop, Jassi buys two magnificent silver cups for Ila and a diary of handmade paper for Puru. Fingering a length of exotic silk, she thinks, "Beauty ke liye ye kaisa rahega?" Looking around for Armaan, she finds him standing in a corner, eyes closed in bliss. She goes to him and taps him lightly on the shoulder. "Kya hua?"

Armu: Yeh music..jo iss shop mein baj raha hai….kitni shanti mil rahi hai isse sunke….

Jassi nods and moves silently to the counter as Armaan closes his eyes again.

Jassi: (to the salesgirl) Can I have a recording of this music please?

Salesgirl: Yes ma'am….iske CDs yahaan milti hai….these are our sacred Buddhist chants…inhe sunne se hi mann mein achchi feelings aati hai….

Jassi buys two CDs for Armaan, and quietly puts them with the rest of her shopping. Meanwhile, Armu has roused from his reverie and is eyeing a beautiful silver watch. He imagines Bebe in his head, smiles, and asks the assistant to pack it. Without letting on anything to Jassi, her strolls over and whistles softly. "Yeh kay dekh rahi ho?"

She laughingly holds up a book on how to master Tibetan in 10 days. "Jahaan jaate hai, wahaan ki bhasha toh seekhne chahiye…."

Armaan: Shayad….main toh Tibetan mein sirf ek baat kehna seekh lu, toh mere liye kaafi hai….

Jassi: Kya?

Armaan: I love you!!

She blushes and looks around to make sure no one is watching, and then nudges him lovingly.

Tomorrow: Last day

Haiii Armaan and his ideas.... He was lost in the music and I lost in how he would look looking lost.... 😆

I think I have lost it 😆 ....as Armaan was too good yesterday and today...Sigh...I am still sighing.... 😳
