Nandu gapes at the "new" Beauty before him. She meets his astonished gaze shyly at first; then, discomfort creeps in.
Nandu finds his voice at last. "Yeh tum hi ho ya main koi sapna dekh raha hun?"
Beauty looks back penetratingly at him, but says nothing.
Without apparently thinking, Nandu picks up a flower from the vase lying on his table and hands it to Beauty, still staring at her😆. Beauty takes it quietly.
After a pause she says, "Mujhe yeh file Armaan sir ko deni hai…."
Nandu: Uhhh…?? Oh…..haan….yeh file Armaan ko de aao.
Just as she is leaving, Nandu calls after her. "Beauty, tum bahut….beautiful ho!"
To his surprise (and ours?😕) Beauty purses her lips and says coldly, "Thank you, sir!"
Jassi calls Armaan at the office. He grins on seeing her name in the caller display and picks up the phone with, "Hi sweetheart!"😳
Jassi blushes and smiles at the other end. She tells him about the dinner invitation. He agrees immediately, but then asks, "Lekin kyun? Koi special occasion hai kya?"
Jassi: Come on, Armaan….yeh sab Angel ko welcome back karne ke liye hai!
Armu: Oh…..haan, Angel! Par tumhe lagta hai ki wo maan jayegi…I mean, uska mood consider karte hue….?
Jassi: (sighing) I hope so….Mamma ne toh kaha hai ki wo chalegi…
Armu: Don't worry, mom usse convince kar lengi….aur aaj toh Double Celebration hoga!
Jassi: Double celebration? Kya matlab?
Armaan chuckles and disconnects the call. Jassi is left wondering at his cryptic words.😉
Beauty and Nandu are driving back home, in silence once again. Nandu is perplexed at her cold behaviour.
At the Suris' home, Ila is trying to persuade Angel to come for the dinner.
Angel: (irritated) Mom pleasssse…….ab mujhe yeh sab karne ke liye force mat karo….un middle-class logon ke saath dinner😡…
Ila: (sharply) Angel….wo koi "log" nahin, hamare relatives hain….tumhe unki feelings ka khayaal rakhna chahiye…(softening) Now come on, beta…..get ready…..please…?
Angel grudgingly nods and gets up.
Jassi has just finished readying Vedika for the party and sent her to Ila to show her her new dress, when Armaan walks in. She meets his eyes as he walks in; she is dressed in a yellow sari with a wide sequined border and is glowing; Armaan walks straight up to her and kisses her forehead😳. She pushes him away in mock annoyance.
Jassi: Chalo….jaldi se ready ho jao…..hum pehle hi late hain..
Armu: I'll soon be ready, sweetheart….lekin main soch raha hum, ki yeh dinner kis ka idea tha?
Jassi: Ummm….Papaji ka….ya shaayad Bebe ka…?
Armu: (grinning) Are you sure yeh Chaman ka idea nahin tha?
As she gets his meaning, they both burst out laughing and their foreheads meet.😉
Jassi: Lekin Armaan…..yeh "Double celebration" waali baat…?
Armu merely laughs and impishly kisses her on the cheek before going off to change. She stares after him in bemusement.
At the Walias', Chaman is primping before a full-length mirror, very very carefully doing his hair😉😆. Then he sticks out his chest and assumes a pose like he had seen on the male models at the GM fashion show. He holds out his hand to the mirror and practices saying, "Hello Angel ji….how are you? Myself Chaman…pehchaana?" Then he blushes and runs his hand through his hair, a huge silly grin pasted on his face.😕😆
JandA, Puru, Ila, Angel and Vedika arrive at the Walias'. They are welcomed warmly. Chaman comes quaking before Angel but, at the sight of her bored face, he forgets everything he had practiced and can only stare stupidly at her. She walks past him inside without even acknowledging him. Bua sees this pantomime and mutters angrily, "Videshi titli!"
Jassi is taken by eager surprise on seeing Beauty's new look and hugs her warmly. Armaan nudges her and whispers, "Double celebration, na?" into her ear. She nods and smiles. But when Beauty tells her that it was Raj's idea, she grows thoughtful.
As they are sitting down to dinner, Nandu arrives on the pretext of meeting Jassi. Billu admonishes him, "Kyun, khaane ki khushboo aayi toh tu apne-aap ko rok nahin paya, na? Chal..(gruffly) ..ab aa hi gaya hai toh baith ja."
Nandu sits down gratefully. He gives an imploring look to Beauty. Jassi intercepts it and smiles meaningfully at Beauty. But to her astonishment, Beauty does not even look at Nandu.
Jassi wonders, "Beauty Nandu se itni naaraz kyun hai?"
Tomorrow: Jassi comes to GM.
