It's not uncommon to get attracted to your colleagues in any profession, more so, if it is a glamourous one like acting, with good looking costars for company whom you meet day in and day out.
Hiten Tejwani-Gauri Pradhan, Maanav Gohil-Shweta Kawaatra, Yash Tonk-Gauri, Sharad Kelkar-Kirti Gaekwad, Shakti Anand-Sai Deodhar all met while acting in the same serial, dated and got married. Couples like Arjun Punjj and Gurdip Kohli met, acted together and fell in love on the sets of Star Plus' Sanjeevani — A Medical Boon. Likewise, Amit Sadh and Neeru Bajwa acted together in Star One's Guns n Roses which brought them closer. Rajeev Khandelwal and Aamna Sharif were paired opposite each other in Star Plus' Kahin To Hoga but they are tight-lipped on this context, though it is well known that they are seeing each other. This drives home the fact that when working together, especially in films and serials where one is required to be in close proximity with the co-star, chemistry does create magic though not many would admit it.
Gaurav Gera admits to have been in awe of his co-star Rakshanda Khan while he played Nandu in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. "I've a light-hearted, flirtatious friendship with Rakshanda," says this selfconfessed flirt of this one-sided attraction.😲 Whereas Mickky Dudani of Star Plus' Saarrthi fame does not believe in going for industry girls, "Why get into a controversy?" opines the dashing guy, who has a whale of a time with girlfriends who are outside the industry. Vinod Singh and Nehaa Mehta grew fond of each other during their stint in Ayushmaan. As Nehaa puts it, "We are comfortable working with each other and as good friends we attend TV functions and parties together."
Rucha Gujarati feels that it is the comfort level that you share with
your co-star that matters rather than attraction, "Especially so when you have to enact love scenes. I shared a great rapport with Manoj Bohra and Chetan Hansraj. They made me comfortable while doing those scenes."
Sushmita Daan of CID bemoans, "Of course, when there are a lot of handsome hunks around, one is bound to get attracted. But unfortunately they are all married. I would love to get married to someone like Salil Ankola." Roshni Chopra begs to differ when she explains, "I don't think one can get attracted to your co-star because the interaction is on a professional level." Nevertheless, her fiance Siddharth fell for Roshni at the very first sight while they acted in a play together, but for her it was after many years of knowing him that she fell in love with him. For Bhavana Balsaver, it is the strong vibes with a witty person that matters. "I have done romantic, even kissing scenes without feeling awkward. So it's the comfort level that matters."
Vikas Bhalla takes the cake when he unabashedly reveals, " I n my first movie, I had a huge crush on my heroine Neelam Kothari." Obviously, he did not express it to her and it remained one-sided. And now, "We do 10-12 scenes a day, there is no time to analyse and get attracted to your co-star. But I don't discount the possibility since your are dealing with human emotions all the time. I am fond of (strictly fond only) Divya Dutta and like to presume it is vice versa too."
