Rakshanda Khan's back at what she's best at: anchoring. But this host of a new celebrity couple's show admits she's still lookin' for her perfect match

Chandigarh, February 14: She's been married more than once, turned mother recently and is already living life in the 40s. All thanks to television. ''Don't we get to live all the roles,'' laughs actor/anchor Rakshanda Khan who after Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin has joined the K-factory for their soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Can't help but ask why? ''That's because my character, Mallika, had come to a logical end,'' Khan is quick to answer. We are still not convinced. ''You know people like you and I judge these shows too harshly. But hey, we are seeing it from an urban sensibility and our kind of audience is very marginal. You'll be amazed at the kind of fan following the show's got. It goes to prove that characters like Tulsi are for real,'' Khan explains who's ''extremely happy'' to be working with Ekta Kapoor again. ''I began my career with her as an anchor and now we are working together again. I admire Ekta for her vision and she truly knows the pulse of the people.''
Interestingly, work's brought Rakshanda back where she started from. ''Yes, they say life's a full circle and now I am anchoring a show after a long time,'' the excitement in her voice explains it all. For those not in the picture, Khan has earlier anchored a film-based show and is now back on Star Plus's all-new celebrity couple show called Jodee Kamaal Ki, that goes on air from March 4. This one's replacing Big B's Kaun Banega Crorepati slot. Is she feeling the pressure? ''Not as much. Anchoring's been my forte and this show is really fun in its format and it helps that most of the guests on the show are people I know or have worked with,'' explains Rakshanda. But guests Yashwant Sinha and his wife who made a recent appearance did get her rehearsing and reading up on her notes. ''Politics has never been my cup of tea. So I was hoping I don't goof up and yes, I did need help on the cricketer guests too,'' she admits. The show features couples and we wonder whether Khan's found her match yet. To this Khan minces no words. ''I seriously am still looking and haven't found anyone. I would love to get married and hope this turn of career proves lucky,'' she says and goes on to add in a lighter vein, ''I also told my director Dheeraj Kumar to arrange a Swayamvar on the show but no one's taking me seriously!'' We hope not too!
