HE'S BACK: Sameer 'Purab' Soni

Last November, one of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin's most popular characters made a sudden exit from the show. Purab (Sameer Soni), Jassi's love interest, was dropped from the serial as "his character had to make an exit".

Soni now confirms that he has been asked to come back on the show. "I got a call from the channel asking me if I was interested in coming back on Jassi.... I immediately said yes."

Soni starts shooting for the show tomorrow and isn't ready to reveal the way his character will shape up. "I can't say much because I don't know which direction the track is going to take, but I can confirm that I will be a part of the show for sure."

Since Jassi… is a daily soap, the actor claims it would be difficult to predict if Purab would have the same shades that he had when Soni quit.

"Purab was a very popular character; no one can deny that. Wherever I went, people would ask me when I would be back in Jassi…. Now I can officially tell them that I'm back."

However, channel head Tarun Katial is cautious. "The channel has yet to sign a contract with him. I can't comment before the legalities fall into place," he says

Viewers may recall that last March Soni entered the show as the new man in Jassi's life. Post Armaan's (Apoorva Agnihotri) engagement with Mallika (Rakshanda Khan), a heartbroken Jassi wants to get away from Gulmohar House.

During this time, she encounters Purab and falls in love with him.
Purab's exit left many baffled as a poll conducted by the channel indicated his increasing popularity with the viewers.

The opinion poll asked viewers to choose whether Jassi should go to Armaan or Purab and the votes heavily swung in Purab's favour.

Soni, who is also seen in Dil Kya Chahta Hai on Star One, is currently doing a play called Anything But Love opposite Mandira Bedi.

He says, "I can't comment on the exact reason why the channel has approached me again. You would have to ask them. But I guess it's because of the love people have showered upon me."

🤢🤢🤢...that article is old...and jassi was getting married to purab but she never LOVED HIM !!!😡...she loves armaan and that si sooooooo obvious😳😃...if they change the ending..grrrrrr!!!!😡

because love is not something people can fall into overnight again and again.

I think the article had that one line alone wrong and it will be proven soon.

Jassi is still so much in love with Armaan and she may just pretend to love purab make armaan jealous again....

but finally I think things will sort between A and J and J will marry A.

Well I kind of doubt that... I am not sure if they still want to go with the original script or not because in most of the polls Purab is the winner...

At the time of the polls Armaan was not shown head over heals with Jassi. This time the equaton is different. Armaan loves Jassi and Jassi loves Armaan and these true lovers should not be seperated. With the telepathic messaging and all, the polls results taken six months back wont make any sense.

The polls at that time were dumb to begin with. When you ask to choose between white totally unrealistic saintly rich character against a more humanly grey character who was not shown in love with Jassi and ask to choose??? No wonder they changed tracks even after majority favored Purab. That was one dumb poll.

This is an old article. I do not think Jassi will fall for purab. She has created enough jealosy in Armaan's heart with the whole nandu saga, purab ke saath pyar ka natak is not needed at this point.

Its only one month old. pplz chillz mann! gosh, accept reality like i did before! jjkn is just a show, that got pplz into three groups: armaan fanz, purab fanz and the group where no one cares. now all we got to see is which groups gets to take jassi, which is obvious-->purab in the jjkn and armando in betty la fea story. so both teams win, dont get upset! and jassi didn't fall in luv with purab, infact it was pressure from her parents to engage with him, and becuz of rohan, he became jassi's "GOOD" friend. CHILLLS PPLZ!
