No Tulsi, no Jassi: blackout hits fans
Express News Service
Ahmedabad, January 5: A CABLE blackout left soap opera buffs in a lather on Thursday. Television screens in more than half the city's houses went blank following a technical snag. By rough estimates, more than five lakh cable TV subscribers bore the brunt of a ''fibre link'' breakdown. The problem was faced by Siticable, one of the city's leading cable service providers. The provider has over three lakh subscribers in Ahmedabad alone and they — in Navrangpura, Satellite, Gurukul and Sarkhej areas — were unable to access satellite channels from 11 am onwards.
Residents of Mehsana and Nadiad too faced a similar problem from 2 pm, following which they made frantic calls to their local cable TV operators. Anirudh Jadeja, distributor of Siticable network, Ahmedabad, said the fibre link which connects all operators across Gujarat was damaged at the Ahmedabad end. ''Experts have been called in from Vadodara to repair the fibre link,'' Jadeja said. ''The team is on the job and we intend to re-start our services tonight,'' he added. Cable operators in Navrangpura were forced to shut down their control room as agitated subscribers landed outside their office on Thursday evening, inquiring about when service would be restarted. ''We have telephoned our cable operator over 15 times but there is no response from his side since afternoon. We pay for the service and have the right to know what has gone wrong," said Pravin Panchal, a resident of Bodakdev area of the city. President of All Gujarat Cable TV Association Pramod Pandya said, ''Services will be restored as soon as possible. The technical team is not just solving the current problem but also trying to ensure that such problems do not crop up in the future.'' Meanwhile, upset with the local operator's ''cold response,'' residents of Vastrapur registered a complaint with the Siticable control room. ''We pay for the cable connection and have a right to know,'' says Falgun R Shah, who lives in Vastrapur area. While soap fans were upset over missing their daily updates, many kept calling the cable control room for the latest take on repair work. "I am sitting in a cyber cafe from the past three hours to check prices of the stocks. It is very tough to work without knowing the share rates and keeping a track of the BSE Sensex," says R Panjwani, a stock broker. Distributors of Sony, Star and Zee bouquets said they were aware of the problem faced by the subscribers but it was ''for the cable network operators to solve the problem.''

How can ppl be heartbroken when there is nothing unusual happening... 😆 hee hee soooooooo FUNNY

I mean when we were all happy that jassi finally married our armu, now this stupid scene of CJ and Raghav dyin and wat not? We all want to miss Jassi on a positive note once it is off air. Atleast the producers should come out of their ideas and show some final romance between the hot-jodi so tat we miss jassi and remember the gud times.

Wat say guys ???
