Rakshanda Khan won the Best Actress Award in a Negative Role at the Indian Telly Awards on November 27 for her performance in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (shared with Urvashi Dholakia for Kasautii Zindagi Kay), but her happiness seems to be shortlived.
According to an actor in the serial Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (Sony), "Rakshanda's character, Mallika, is coming to an end. Either she will be shown committing suicide, or migrate abroad."
Reveals another source, "There is friction between Rakshanda and producer Deeya Singh. Rakshanda is very upset about the fact that Deeya thanked everybody except her on stage, when Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin was announced as the Best Daily Show at the Indian Telly Awards." Malaysia track
We contacted Deeya Singh, who said, "I cannot say anything on Rakshanda's role now. The serial is shifting to Malaysia from mid-December. Rakshanda is not going to Malaysia, as the track there does not include her." No friction Deeya
Won't Rakshanda be back in the show, when the Malaysia track is over? Says Deeya, "We are still writing the script for the coming days. Plus, I don't know exactly when the Malaysia track will end. It may be extended over what is being planned now. So I really can't say anything, but I can assure you that there is no friction between Rakshanda and me."
Rakshanda did not take our calls for a long time, and when she did, she excused herself, saying, "I am on an international call; will call you back," but didn't. In reply to an SMS, she said, "I have a very hectic shoot today.
Sorry, I can't talk." The actress refused to comment on whether her character was ending, but said, "I think none of us is petty enough to get upset if our names are not taken. We are all grown-ups." |
