Ravi Dubey's death-defying aerial stunt for Jamai Raja!
To enact the scene perfectly, despite the risk, Ravi went ahead and did the scene hanging from cables doing the stunt and falling from a height of approximately 300 feet. He had precious little time to rehearse before the shot as this crucial scene had to be completed in daylight... but the challenge did not end there. Even as he was suspended midair for quite some time, Ravi needed to emote capturing the intensity of the sequence.
Sharing his experience on doing the daring stunt on his own, Ravi shares "It was scary to say the least; the helipad height at film city is the highest in Mumbai and on top of that there is an industrial crane and you are hanging on to absolutely nothing but these threads that hold you. The scariest part is when they are taking you towards the cavity (Khai). At that time, the cables are swaying and so is your body. The go pro camera was attached to my chest. In the first take it kept moving excessively, so I had to handle the camera and also emote at the same time. So we didn't get a proper take and had to repeat it several times over. There was a time I wondered if I could really pull it off. I even considered coming down but a lot of time, energy and monetary investment had been made, so I pushed my limits and went for the kill. Then came the drop and you have this unimaginable feeling of zero gravity and weightlessness. Even though it was scary, there was an adrenaline rush that kicked in and kept me going. I would definitely like to do more stunts like this if something challenging comes up. I hope viewers enjoy watching this sequence as much as I enjoyed performing it "
