Thank you, everyone, who took time to like and comment it means a lot to me.

Had loads and loads of work but only this chapter was running in my mind so I stopped everything and drafted it hope it turned out at least to the minimum expectations of the readers. fingers crossed

Chapter 29

She watched him getting ready to start his day in the office humming some song, how could he? how could he be happy when she was so sad? A part of her wanted him to feel her pain, but can she blame him completely? NO, because she was the one who has decided to part ways with her family to be with this man. Her eyes swam with tears at the mention of her family and she scrubs them off before he is privy to them.

The anxiety and happiness to meet him after so long were so strong that she didn't think twice before rushing out to meet him the moment she understood it is him waiting for her in the car. She felt peace in his arms, this is what she wished for, Why couldn't her family accept it? When she expressed the same to Shyam, he asked her if she would run away to be with him? She was scandalized with the option he was suggesting but he insisted that it is the only way they could ever be together as her family is hell-bent on separating them.

She accepts that if she goes back the chances of meeting him again are very less by the looks of it her mother may also decide to marry her off to someone against her wishes if she let goes this moment will there ever be a chance to lead her life with the person she so loves? There is only one way out, marry him first and come back so that they can never be separated.

Hence she decided to go with him, assuming that they would be back after being officially declared as husband and wife but seems that Shyam has some other plans running in his mind, the hurry which was visible until a few days back was gone, there is this look of achievement in his eyes, the talk of marriage never came from his side and he didn't accept her notion too asking her to be patient. She tried persuading him to let her know his view of their future but he always escapes it.

She presumed that they would marry and return back in a day or two, wasn't that what even he suggested or was it only her who has these plans while he has something else completely different?

"Bhayya, don't you have to go there anymore?"

"No, he messaged me asking to quit, as it is I can't be there anymore, everything I did was only for our children's happiness but helping in wrongdoing is also equal to the wrong which is coming back to us like this."

"Can't we give a complaint?"

"He is a lawyer by profession, don't you think he will have all this sorted out well in advance?"

"At least a missing complaint?"

"No use, he has everything under his control, he even knew about Payal not being your daughter and Aman is also working under him, we have no support and we would only lose so much if at all we go against him."

"Aman is working under him? You mean to say..."

"I don't know how this is related to Shyam but yes even he is under his observation."

"Payal? Is she not Madhu Bua's daughter?" Aman was shocked to hear this, he wanted to know if at all his father has some good news and was about to come into the room when he heard his father's words. Looks like they came to know about him too, but it was never intentional from his side to get into this, he never knew Shyam's true colors until he got neck deep into it and now there is no escape, but now he should try to find out a way, Payal may not be bua's daughter but she will always be his sister.

"Khushi, do you think we will find any clue if we get to see the cheque?"

"Let's try for now I think we can know about Rohan," she said looking behind him.

"What do you mean...?"

"Hii guys, having fun without me?" he heard La's voice from behind and before he could turn to look at her she came to sit beside him.

"La! What a surprise?! You here, we were just talking about you, " he said trying to think of the best possible way to ask her about Rohan.

"Is it? Doesn't look so, you both know I'm just a walk away from here but still you didn't ask me to join you guys here, it 's good that I came here by chance, saw you and came to say a hello."

"How come you are going this side? you live the other side of the city."

"Rohan has planned something and I don't want him to come here to get me and waste time, you know traffic these days, I said I would meet him directly at his office so that we can carry on from there."

"La, you didn't tell me when you have planned to leave," he let it out finally.

"Leave? Where?" she was confused.

"I heard that Rohan is planning to shift to another city after the wedding." He said casually.

"Yeah, he suggested it but you know right, Mom stays here all alone, there is no one apart from me to look after her, so I requested if we could stay here, close to Mom even if in case she needs any help I would always be available, even his parents are here so what's the point in going away? And he seems to be okay with my words." she looked at Khushi and man was she trying to avoid looking at her directly? And Arnav even he seems to be in deep thought, something is fishy, she can sense it. Arnav's sudden interest in Payal and then now Rohan, how did they even come to know about something which they both spoke in privacy? Is she missing out on something important?

"Okay guys, I need to go, see you later," right now Rohan is waiting for her, it is not the time to discuss all these, she can't ask it in front of Khushi, how much Khushi is privy of the happenings is something she is unaware of.

"Khushi, are you sure, they received it? We don't have anything here or maybe they have deposited it"

"Trust me, the cheque is still here, no one went to the bank today, let's check it in the other draw."

They both sneaked into the office room but it was of no use, they were unable to spot the cheque.

"Finally, Here it is.." Khushi spoke a bit louder than expected.

"Shhh, let me see.." If he was stunned looking at Shyam's signature he was disturbed looking at the other signature.

Somewhere he knew the details will not to be his liking but Shyam he never expected and the other signature the name was not clear but the way the A was styled it resembled the sign of someone close to him, his DAD, but he was not sure if it was his father's, the sign is not matching only the letter A is carved same as his fathers. Is this something which he should be worried of?

"Arnav, ARNAV, what happened?" Khushi was trying to get him out of the trance.

"UHH, nothing, Khushi are you sure? is this from Shakshy only? I mean there is nothing mentioned here. We may be mistaken."

"I'm sure it is from then only, the amount you see is very huge, we didn't get any other cheque for this amount recently, even the date says it has been drawn today, why are doubting it?" they should be happy that they found it but what is the reason for Arnav to doubt it?

"Nothing, let's go from here first, it's not safe to stay longer." he took a photo of the cheque placed it back in its place and dragged Khushi out. He was not in is correct mind to explain her anything. what would he say in the first place when he was still in confusion.

"Let's meet tomorrow, for now, go sleep." saying so he left her with many questions running in both of their minds.

Shyam and his father both know each other? Neither Shyam mentioned it to him nor his father ever spoke about the man. They both own a joint account and Shakshy where does it fit in this? His father never took its name as per his knowledge. How sure is he that the cheque is from Shakshy? Nothing is mentioned on it so he can't be sure that it is from Shakshy and coming to think of the signatures even Shyam's signature is not what he signs in the official records, but once he came across his personal bank statements there he saw this sign, it means only personal accounts of his has this sign, that is still fine. what about his father? how sure is he that it is of his father? Other than the letters A and M nothing else is understandable in it but the letter A can he ignore it? should he ignore it? why is everything so messed up, so confusing, day by day it is getting more complicated.

He sat down holding his mother's album, speaking to her is his only salvation right now. He was going through the pictures and slowly drifted into sleep.

At first, it looked like a fluttering red bird gradually a shield of smoke can be seen, waves of blazing heat can be felt, sirens could be heard from a distance The flames were engulfing from all sides burning it into ashes sparing nothing. It slowly turned into a bellow of ash and then mixed in the air in form of smoke.

"Anjali Raizada?

"Yes, Anjali Raizada, that is Mom's name, very sweet, isn't it? Just like her.

"CHOTTEEE"

"Ahhh" he jerked up, the same dream again, but wait "chotte"? He never heard it before, but the voice seems like of a ladylike calling for help and Khushi's voice asking him about his mother's name.

"Anjali Raizada?

"Yes, Anjali Raizada, that is Mom's name, very sweet, isn't it? Just like her.

"Anjali Raizada, RAIZADA? How can it be? he rushed toward the album starting turning it in hurry the photo he was looking for, where did it go when he wants it so desperately.

He found it among the heap of pictures he dumped in his anxiety to find it, he took a careful look at it and slowly turned it around to look at the names.

Anjali Raizada.

"Oh god, how can it be? The picture is taken when his mother was in school, it means Raizada is her mother's maiden name, then how can he and his father be Raizada's? The girl would change the surname after marriage, not vice-versa right? How come he and his father have Raizada added to their name. His father never liked his mother's parents so why did he change his name to theirs? What is the missing piece here? Are the happenings around him, not enough to trouble now he is getting more deeply in this? What should he do now?

Khushi can he see that Arnav was not his usual self, he seems to be in deep thought, he looks aged just in a span of few hours, from the time they saw the cheque he looked troubled and right now it looks like something else is also a part of his trouble other than the cheque but how can she make out the reason behind it when he is not ready to even look at her properly? Maybe she should try speaking to him once they are out of the bank, they came here to find out more about the cheque.

Precap-Arshi speak to the bank officials regarding cheque but do they find anything helpful or will it get more confusing?
