Hi there people 🤗
Wishing you all a very Happy belated Easter and I hope you all had a wonderful time. 😳
No the purpose of this note was not to wish you all, that too, but I was compelled to bring out the internal dynamics of Arnav-Kunal confrontation given the help that some of my readers sought. Though I will not be penning the why's and how's. Wedded is not a new story, so the reader base that has been with it since the beginning ought to have understood the subtle nuances. If not, I am just gonna pick the fabulous comments from the readers for this update, some who have outdone themselves and surprised me with their logical understanding to the characters. I think that should pretty much do the bit. Also, thank you for receiving this chapter so well, the response has been heartening. I had talked about pulling some comments to be put in the book, and Chapter 39 has the MAXIMUM of them 😳❤️
Readers Verdict & Critics Choice (Comments from some of the seasoned readers that will be amalgamated with the book's review section)
1. RSGPT (Rupali) has some brilliant insight into the convo- So here is the start of 'The Terminator Arnav'! the ocean has finally snapped! Got a shiver down my spine looking at the cold calculated annihilation of Kunal, professionally and personally. Does he deserve it? Many people will have contrasting opinions. The ethics and morals are always very dicey. Some may feel that his failure as a doctor to Khushi's father and his pathetic spineless behaviour makes him deserve this. Someone else may feel that he is weak, in his love, in his conviction and is more to be pitied and that he does not deserve so harsh a treatment. But what stuck me more in this whole episode was, one thing Kunal and Akash have in common! the complete lack of conscience and guilt over their actions. Akash is a psychotic bully and Kunal is worm who ends up whining about his predicament. But none of them think about the consequences of their selfish action on others. Forget the past, even now did Kunal think how Khushi's mental peace, marital life will be affected by his approaching her and his grand declaration. He is pleading love and helplessness now that he is confronted by Arnav. But god forbid, if Arnav had misunderstood, what would Khushi have done? This is inexcusable.
2. Krisgeet67 (Parvathi) what a brilliant take on Khushi being the motivation behind seeking out Kunal-
A little background on Kunal-Khushi
Khushi was to get engaged to Kunal when Kunal confronted Khushi about her past and without giving her a chance to explain demanded that she choose her family or him. This pained Khushi a lot but she chose her family because she was never in love with Kunal but agreed to marry him only because her family wanted her to. Khushi hence decided to break her engagement off without giving the true reason to her family to save them from feeling guilty about the past. As a consequence Khushi's father suffered a Heart Attack. Unknown to Khushi he was denied treatment by Kunal the supposed future son-in -law of the patient. It was Arnav's timely interference that saved Shashi's life and allowed the family to remain intact.
The present scenario
Coming to Khushi, the very sight of Kunal brings the past hurts and the insults faced by her family due to her broken engagement. The one person who knew her from her childhood who know her family very well since his childhood turned out to be the perpetrator of pain for the family and the cause of Shahshi's almost fatal attack. She is happily married and wants nothing to do with Kunal and feels he is not worth her friendship at all. His very sight pains her. Kunal in an attempt to seek Khushi's friendship has poured out his so-called love before Khushi which Khushi knows isn't true love at all but a selfish one at that. It is very clear that Kunal will make more attempts to meet Khushi to seek her forgiveness. What would happen if Khushi agrees to forgive him?
At a later date as and when she comes to know the truth regarding criminal negligent action of Kunal as a bargaining chip to treat Shashi, wont she be hurt that it was her decision to break the engagement which caused the heart attack in the first place almost had her father killed because she refused to go with Kunal? How will she face herself and her family when she knows that she has forgiven the beast that wrought destruction in the life of her father who gave her his unconditional love though she wasn't his by blood? Isnt Kunal almost like that beast Suresh who also leashed terror in her life?
Arnav has clearly thought about all this unlike you and me. The only way to stop Khushi from any ore hurt or guilt was to stop Kunal and put an end to his interference in their lives. Arnav has not been negligent with Dr Smith's patient but Kunal has and it is high time that he is shown the mirror for his present as well as his past deeds. Kunal may be helpless in his love but it does not mean that he has the right to play with anyone's life. Being a Doctor, his prime responsibility is towards the patients over and above his personal goals.
3. Catherine, she knows Arnav of Wedded like the back of her hand- Boy have you amazed me with the whole Kunal scene or what?! And now we know that there was more to the disapproval Arnav held for Kunal, and I feel nothing but pity for him. Arnav paralyzed him first with the blow to his career. He took him off his footing and threw him off his ground before he pummelled him and finished it off.See! This is what I keep saying about Arnav dear's dark side. No one can link the incident to him. NO one can suspect why he was even there at the Medical center. He had the perfect aliby. Secret agant perfect type. Simple really. He had an appointment with the doctor treating his wife. He ran a little late and he is tired so he will refresh himself with some coffee at the canteen. (He was trying to be charming with the nurse, wasn't he?)
Absolutely brilliant! Thats where Kunal would be after the news he received - alone. "Raw deal" indeed. What was glaring still in all this was Arnav's sense of justice. He did not punish Kunal for something he didn't do. He punished Kunal for something he had already done earlier on and got away with. He was negligent with Khushi's father by refusing to treat him. Its true that if Arnav was not there then there could have been dire consequences because Khushi would never go to Kunal for help. It was a very ill thought and cruel idea that Kunal had.
Arnav would have never bothered with Kunal had he not tried to befriend Khushi again. In a way Arnav might have even been greatful, if Kunal was not so foolish then Arnav might have never been able to come into the picture. But Kunal crossed the line and made an enemy out of a very shrewd man. Arnav was very clear while conveying his feelings on the matter - Kunal had no right to interfere in Khushi's life in any way after the way he had treated her (including what she knew and what she didn't, yet). Kunal had always been a weak man. He couldn't accept the truth about the girl he loved, then he couldn't accept her rejection, then he couldn't accept that she found her happiness with someone else, he couldn't accept the fact that he no longer held any place in her life. And each time he tried to force himsself into her life again and failed miserably. Remembering what I read about Khushi's sentiments on Kunal, Arnav is right. More than anything else, she considered Kunal a friend first and foremost. And Kunal did try to turn the tables almost affecting Arnav but then Arnav is a seasoned player of this game. He turned them right back. Whatever Kunal thought Khushi felt for him, how did Kunal reward her for it? That hit him hard.
4. Poojasidd123(Pooja), the most newest take on Arnav's seasoned takedown to Kunal's annihilation- Arnav for one of the rarest times in this story, showed his no-nonsense and intimidating side. Though at first I did feel bad for Kunal when he was charged by his superintendent. I felt as if something unfortunate happened to him for no 'apparent' fault of his. But when the truth about him refusing treating khushi's father was brought to the fore by arnav, I was appalled at how much he had fallen down in his profession before. That was an unforgivable crime. Though, I must be honest here that at first I didn't approve of arnav going behind khushi's back just to confront kunal and proclaim his rights on his wife. I felt that if you really love your life partner and you know that he/she loves you and trusts you equally, why do you need to do something that doesn't hold importance in any of your lives? But when kunal's truth came out, I knew that arnav did the right thing to show kunal his real face. Kunal seems to be lacking any sort of guilt or remorse for what he did to khushi's father and also after he was charged by the superintendent. The only thing on his mind was - "how could he go wrong? what wrong did he do? why was life so unfair to him?" Seriously man!? after having been involved in so much wrongdoings, he had the gall to think like that? Ok, according to him, he had just refused to treat her father until she came to him, and that his subordinate was there to take care, but that doesn't lessen his crime. Shashi was in a critical condition and as a doctor, it was utter recklessness of him to push his duties to the back and instead think about his so-called love. And that too, after he so unthinkably made ridiculous demands on her. It was extremely necessary for someone to make him realize about his shortcomings and his terrible deed. Which I am so glad that arnav did. You reap what you sow. Your past misdeeds will get back at you in some way or the other, no matter however you try to ignore them. Kunal being the idiot and blockhead that he is, wouldn't have realized this, if arnav didn't come and shown him the true picture. I am not trying to place arnav in a Godly position by justifying his role, but someone somewhere somehow had to wake kunal up from his make-believe world of misfortune and pride. arnav directly or indirectly did that! Sometimes in order to do something which you feel is the right course of action, you need to do that even without the knowledge of your loved ones. And arnav didn't intend to hide this from khushi.
5. AllthingsIPKKND (Mansa), one of my favourite comments so far - This is what was exactly needed for Arnav to let go off his feeling of guilt that has enveloped him in this moment. Things might not have been the same had he known about Karan beforehand, but then that would have ensured Karan's chapter remaining in the background forever. So, this has to be dealt with sooner or later and no better time than now when Arshi have just a few more days of stay left in London. The chapter was awesome and bang on. Further more what a revelation of the human mind in a tight situation. Once again, LOVE this Arnav, so proud of him for ALWAYS standing by her and being very clear that he will do anything to make things right to keep her happy. I really want to give Arnav credit for keeping his anger in check. For all the shock that Arnav felt, I have to say he recovered pretty well in the end. His intent to push the matter to end of discussion, his understanding to back off at the right moment, and his timing on conveying the clarification - he might be mentally all over the place but his actions that were encouraging Karan to defend himself, waiting to see his reaction and unknowingly leading Karan to dig a deeper grave for himself . This Arnav showed Karan his place and Khushi's place in his life. It's hard not to feel for Karan at the beginning of this chapter. But after hearing through all his justifications and his view points during the face off with Arnav, I don't even know what to say. It's a hard reality to swallow that Karan has used his medical profession to win over Khushi. Thanks N for providing a glimpse into the brains of these kinds of people.
6. Inamjar(G), the brighter side- A sensible Individual who would do anything to protect him loved ones, at the same time knows where he has to ensure justice is done for the mistakes committed especially for people close to him. What did Kunal do. Did he really commit the error or has he been framed by Dr Smith's team. But looks like Karma has come to him. But since Arnav seems to be aware of it, his statement "Raw Deal" seems to make you think as well.
How could Have Kunal been so inhuman. Was he not a Family and Family friend first to Sashi &; Kushi. Did he think that after how he spoke Khushi would come back running to him. What kind of a Doctor is he, being so Unethical refusing to treat Sashi when it was required the Most. Looks like only Arnav &; Garima and may be Sashi know of what Kunal did. If Khushi did, she would never talk to Kunal. Is this the Reason why, Garima said looking at the photo frame of Arnav & Khushi that Arnav was a Good soul Unlike Kunal. And that Arnav will stand by her daughter. Makes sense even more now. Unfortunately Kunal wants to blame Khushi for no fault of her and tries to justify himself. He seems to think he is perfect, while he is anything but this. Arnav has aptly put him in his place with his conversation with him.
7. Leabello (bella)- When I read the quote at the beginning, I kind of had an inkling that it will have Kunal in it because the quote pretty much explains his condition, the battle between hanging on and letting go.
The guy is surely trapped. Karma bites back and bite hard it did to Kunal. Back then when he had done something deliberately, there was no strong evidence. And now, when he claims to have not done the mistake, there is enough evidence to prove otherwise.
And our Arnav did remind him of where he had gone wrong to face this day! I liked how Arnav introduced himself to Kunal. He resembled a lion who knows to mark his territory. He dealt with the situation in calculative steps. It does tell us of how much thought process has gone into this. He knew that there would be a clash of words and his insecurity was bound to rise to the fore. But he handled it well. It was definitely a 'Now or never' situation for him. He was right in making Kunal realise his faults and his unrequited love for Khushi. Kunal has not understood what true love is. His love is selfish, if love is what he claims it to be. Arnav has dealt with this whole ordeal in a mature manner. I loved the way he told Kunal that he would always love and protect Khushi, come what may. He also made Kunal realise that Khushi isn't interested in him anymore and doesn't want to do anything with him. And I guess Kunal will now drown himself in guilt for the trouble he caused Khushi's family.
8. Sk2405 (Shruti)- Woah! That was a freaking yocker, googly, spin ball, what not and all at once. Arnav literally unleashed all that he could upon Kunal, leaving him not just defenceless but also unmanning him. He actually hit Karan where it would hurt him the most. And in all this, not once, did he malign any of his loved ones or stoop to a level too low for his own set standards. But learning about Karan's past deeds has definitely put him in a very shameful light. He is getting what he sowed and in right ways at that.
And for some pointers from my end-
1. Khushi knows Kunal is attached to the Med Centre for Fellowship but acc to Khushi, Arnav is unaware of this fact. And why crucify Arnav? Khushi too didnt spill the beans about her meet with Kunal and his confession. So they are equals. I have said this numerous times earlier too, that Arhi are equals and that is why they were meant to be.
2. If Arnav was insecure he would have gone right after Kunal after hearing the confession but did he? He did not even confront Khushi about it, did he? It is an inept need to protect her and right the wrong committed against Khushi and her family. I stated in the update that Arnav lets Kunal know his folly and to administer that he doesnt act as a pest later on, he had to seek him out. Kunal did what he had to with Khushi's father and walked off scot free, forgetting it altogether, which is why I have written in his monologue that he thinks why he was subjected to the atrocity in the hands of Smith. No one except Arnav was there when Kunal committed a misdeed against Khushi's dad and Arnav rescued him. So, it was important for Arnav to take the bait and put Kunal in place before Kunal could have done more damage. Kunal is much like Akash, guilt free and shallow. Yes, he isnt rabid like how Akash but he is capable of bigger sins and in the story there are multiple instances to show that Arnav is a good judge of people. Plus he dint crucify or harm Kunal. And did give him a benefit of doubt too, assuaging Khushi out of the unnecessary blame and her guilt, how you will know soon. Never forget this Arnav is astute and has tact while he is also proactive 😛
In the end I would like to thank you all for being so invested in the story and showering your lovely comments with each week. Rest assure the critics approved this one in the light of what they know is to come, isnt it, and they certainly would not stake a story that has no content, grit or mettle. Plus, the story is yet to be wrapped up and I am sure you dont know what goes on in my mind. So just read the chapters, in between the lines and make the most of it. 🤗
And dont miss the teaser below 😉
