Important Questions
"Yes Arnav?" Ayan met his gaze with a disheveled Arnav. His eyes held a ferment agitation as he entered Ayan's cabin after closing the door shut after him and flopping himself on the couch beside. After 4 back to back meetings, he could feel the fatigue seep in through his muscles. Physical and mental restlessness made him look weary.
"Coffee?" he asked when he saw Ayan putting the phone back after taking a call and assemble files while waiting for him to elaborate.
"I'll be heading out for lunch, wanna join in?" Ayan couldnt pin point but his sixty sixth sense could sense an ulterior motive behind Arnav's words. Nonetheless, he opted to ignore such as at many other instances where he chose to forget a few issues.
"Sure. Wait for me for some 5 minutes I'm gonna join you." he muttered as exhausted as Arnav falling back to his headrest before finishing off his remaining important calls.
"Come on. Let's go." Throwing his tie in the farthest corner of his cabin, he stuffed his phone in his pocket with Arnav leading them, his hands in his pockets.
While both the men climbed down the stairs, the employees grinned wide. It was another day when both the bosses were headed out and will probably be out even after the break gets over which might prove a pleasant day for them. Silent cheers erupted within them as they finally saw them exiting the building.

"I was thinking something." Ayan tried to present after placing their respective orders to a sweet waitress.
"Be flattered right now. You have got admirers here, might as well get a free coffee." Arnav winked as he saw their waitress fawning over Ayan teamed with other 2 of them over his shoulder, passing on looks his way every now and then.
"Shall I leave you to your own company and .."
"No, no! I don't remember suggesting you that."
"Then listen to whatever I was thinking."
"Shoot!"
"Why dont we throw a party? You know, a domestic party or maybe a treat for our employees? They have been working their asses off from a past few months as much as I have seen them."
"It's a good idea. Indeed." He agreed leaning back on his chair tasting the idea in his mind over.
"Let me see through our schedules. If we could get a day free we can plan it wisely."
"Sure, let me know the day and I'll handle the preparations."
"Woah! Hold on. Let me first get on what to do?"
"Hmm, have you seen my farmhouse in the outskirts? Maybe we can spend a day or two there?" he held his brows high earning an appreciative look from Ayan.
"It sounds good. In fact, the season will add its charm."
"Yeah. Extend the invitation to the employees Ayan when we get back. I'll be handling everything."
"On it man." He took out his phone to make a few phone calls.
"Hey, what day though?" Arnav asked calculating. The idea seemed appealing but he had meetings in the pipeline which couldn't be delayed but meetings be damned. A good time's rain and a mingling sounded good to him.
"Next week?" Ayan asked but received an impossible answer which made him look at Arnav with a suspicious look.
"How about this week?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. It will be good if we get done with it as soon as possible. If you invite the employees now for a party next week, the office hours will pass in buffoonery all the week. Specially, work will lose the female attention for sure." Ayan shot him an appreciative glance. It was indeed true whatever he just said. Females and their planning would make the office suffer hard. The workers would hardly be able to concentrate on their chores if they will get to know about a playful initiative from their workaholic bosses.
"But how will we call everyone on such a short notice. This is a holiday purpose for them not a meeting Arnav."
"This Sunday will be fine."
"But Khushi.." as soon as he uttered this certain name, he saw Arnav spare a careful glance at him but turned his face slightly at a side the other second.
"Call her. Or if she doesnt wish to attend then you can ask her to spend as many days abroad as she wish." His words sounded grumpy and Ayan looked up in inquisition.
"Abroad? She is already back man."
"Whatthe? When?" a little louder it got as he burst on Ayan suddenly making him look at him again doubtfully but then Ayan relaxed.
"Morning." He said coolly making Arnav's horses lose their patience.
"Why didnt you tell me?"
"You were not so oh-caring when I go somewhere. But before you start with why-didnt-she-come-to-office shit, I granted her a leave." At that moment, Arnav never thought his mate's liberty of allowing employees' holiday can be this ruinous to his health. He turned his face to the other side grumbling.
"Whatever." He said pressing his lips tighter. But his little sulk remained no more as their coffees arrived along with a charming smile a little above.
"Your order sir." The waitress smiled shyly. "There we go." Ayan muttered under his annoyed breathe making Arnav smirk heartedly. "Thankyou miss." His tone was dismissive faltering the smile on her face as she headed back with a smile less curvy than before.
Both of them sipped their beverages in peace as the work tensions emanated from their bodies. Their postures were relaxed than before.
A few seconds passed in silence when Ayan spoke up.
"I was wondering if what would have we done if Khushi was not there." Arnav looked up at him. Ayan had a forlorn look on his face. This look! It was every time when Ayan was glad and at the same time hopeless.
"Well the good news is, she was. Although she can be a harmless nuisance but I hate to admit, your sister has potential."
"That, she is!" He chuckled.
"I trusted your choice, I trusted her with our clients but at the back of my mind, I was pretty skeptical. Do you get this? I was as much sure as much I was unsure of all this." His words were disorganized for him but Ayan understood them well. Putting his cup down on the table, Ayan smiled slightly feeling proud of Khushi.
"Do you think I'm being partial towards her?" He suddenly questioned Arnav.
He didnt reply for a while sitting back quietly. A few seconds later, he straightened himself sitting upright. "I dont think Ayan. If I were to say anything just about your sister and not my employee then she is very much capable of handling herself without you being there." He saw Ayan getting wide eyed. "It may seem impossible to you Ayan." He simpered clicking fingers on his mug in a gradual rhythm. "As much clumsy as she seems, she does it deliberately. Like she bothers me deliberately."
"After all, you figured that out." Ayan grinned making Arnav mask the same expressions. "You have no idea how I control myself sometimes just because of you." Ayan ducked his eyebrows down looking at him suggestively and doubtfully. "Oh, I mean, anger issues.." he muttered again vanishing the frown lines on Ayan's temples.
"This much partiality is allowed." Ayan snickered and Arnav shook his head slowly.
"I won't say 'Yes'. I wonder what debacle you both siblings will pull off on me if I do." He smiled lightly.
"What did I do?"
"Dont act smart!"
"Dude, smartness runs in Gupta blood."
"Well, I'm so flattered to have 3 gallons of this blood, all for our office!" smirking haughtily, he held back his laugh seeing a whatever' look on Ayan's face.
"Can we head back? We have to prepare for an HR meeting and this weekend then."
"Sure!" Leaving the coffee mugs on the table they both exited the caf with a couple of waitress left dismal behind.

"Tomorrow at sharp 9 am, you will receive the potential applicants for the post of my PA since Mrs Fernandez is on her maternal leave. I wonder if she will be even back. Be there on the reception on time Ms Mehra. It's your job to collect the CV(s) from the applicants and leave them on my desk. Ayan will be unavailable tomorrow morning so I will go through them. If they have any general queries, answer them, assemble them. The last thing I want is an uncoordinated interview planning. Make sure you are yourself on time going against your norm..." his loud oration was interrupted with his vibrating phone kept in his pocket. "Excuse me" Shuffling out in between the stuff inside, he held his phone out holding it to his ear uninterested. His temples ached badly as he answered the phone.
"It's Arnav Singh Raizada speaking."
"You mean you are yapping?"
"Whatthef..!" he heard giggles at the other end. He took a long tedious breathe before opening his eyes. So she was back to poking his delicate nerves.
"How have you been Arnav?"
She has got some spunk to ask him that' he thought wryly. Suddenly, he was made conscious of another presence in his cabin with a loud sneeze. He looked up at his receptionist who stood rather mortified at having sneezed so loudly in front of his boss. She looked horrified.
"Did I disturb your moment? I'm so sorry, I'll just hang up.."
He groaned. "Wait!" Ms Mehra looked at him scared.
"Leave!" he said sternly and a one word instruction was enough for her to vanish from there within seconds.
"I was not having any moment. Heard you are back?"
"Yeah I landed this morn and I was granted a leave. I have e-mailed you and Mr Gupta all the details of the new deal you will be working upon."
"Khushi?"
"Hmm?"
"Nothing! I expect you to be in the office tomorrow morning Ms Gupta along with everything. See you soon"
"Arnav!" she called out before he could cut the call. It was an urgent matter about which she wanted to talk to him.
"Yes?"
"Will you trust me if I tell you something?"
"What is it?"
"I asked you. Just tell me."
She waited with a baited breathe.
"Yes. I will." He had no clue what compelled him to utter those words, was it the sincerity in her voice or his heart but he could trace pints of solemnity in her voice which made him sit upright in his seat.

Resting with the window, she breathed long and relaxed. The matter she wanted to talk about to Arnav was eating her up since a few days. She was appointed in the Finance and Accounts department and she had already witnessed a few unnecessary transactions taking place from the company's accounts in large sums. The matter had to be dealt with sheer care, she thought sipping her hot chocolate.
Talking to Arnav have had her anxiousness dormant as she now felt relieved knowing she was trusted, her words would weigh something if she brings the issue up. She smiled.
It would be a long day before she rejoins the office but she had to be there with the facts in hand.
She didn't know when sleep loomed over her and in the next few minutes, she lay there, snoring lightly...
