OS : A Walk To Remember
The sky lightened up as if lit up by fire. The sun, like a large, grandeur orange fireball in the distance partially cloaked by the hanging clouds, which were all splashed with the random colors of hot pinks, reds and even hints of purples and blues. The way was silent, just the way he liked. Walking along the way, he felt the cold evening breeze calming his senses. Putting his hands inside his trouser's pockets, he looked up at the sky & smiled.
As he walked on, he started thinking of his life. From child of a mere farmer, today he was the owner of a multinational company. He accomplished in raising everyone's collar in his family with proud by topping in his subject in University. His dad, his lips curved into a smile on its own. Only god knows what would have happened without his dad. When his mother passed away, his dad was the one who hadn't lost hope. He never married another woman because he did not wanted a step mom for his children. He had always supported him through the thick & rough times of life. Moreover, it gave him immense pleasure to know that his dad was proud of what he was today. Well everything was possible only because of him.
Then his thoughts drifted to his di. His smile converted into a grin now & he shook his head. God help his poor jijaji, he chuckled remembering how his di made him run after her while she was pregnant. Avni, a serene smile spread on his face. The adorable, cute lil pie. He couldn't help but remember when avni was 4 & his di was expecting her second child. How cutely she had asked her mother
'Mummy why are you so fat?'
'Because there's a baby in my tummy.'
'Mum, do you love the baby?'
'Of course, baby. I love her'
'Then why did you eat her at the first place?'
And everyone had burst out laughing. Those days were the best days of his life. He sighed. His di left with his jiju & settled in USA. Though she did pay him a visit once in a year but he missed them a lot...
Twinkling laughter of a woman brought him out of his own world. He looked in the direction of the sound & saw a woman, probably in her late twenties, playing with a small girl. On his own accord, he started moving towards them, near the shore. The lady had long silky hairs reaching below her waist. Her mischief laden hazel eyes now completely focused on the lil girl before her. The lil girl probably said something that made her laugh throwing her head back. Pinching the chubby cheeks of the lil girl, she whispered something, which sounded like
'You are so cute'
Now he was able to see her properly. She looked enticing in the yellow sundress she was wearing. It made her look like a college girl. Now standing only half a feet's distance away from her, he watched as she moved back, playing with the lil girl.
She probably didn't notice him & so while moving back, collided with him & before falling he caught her...like he had been doing since few years of now.
'Daddy' the lil girl came running towards him & hugged his legs & he looked at her with affection.
'What arnav? You are late, again' his wife gave him an adorable pout.
'Sorry khushi. I got busy in my work. But See I came at the right time' he told her, gesturing her that she was in his arms.
'Aise he sambhaloge na mujhe?'
'Hamesha...'
He freed his wife & picked up his daughter in his arms. The three walked along, laughing, hugging each other. A perfect family time they were having. A perfect family of three!
P.S. Imagine his daughter's name to be Vandana😆
