Khushi crumbled the paper after reading it. Wow. How can someone act so nicely. She saw the waiter approaching with cups of coffee. She took it and starting sipping her coffee. The note , still in her hands , crushed. Ayush came up. "You ok?" he asked. Khushi nodded. "You know khushi...it's high time...you gotta open those gates to your heart!" ayush sighed. "Don't stop yourself from falling in love..." he whispered. "I am not...i don't want to fall in love ok?! And anyways...i don't possess a heart anymore!" she smirked and looked at the water in the pool. "Of course you have...don't hide it khushi...please!" he murmured.
"I am not hiding anything. That guy broke me , tore me apart and you know what? I don't give a sh** to him anymore..." she said but her expression was calm and serene. Ayush was beyond shocked. "So...you mean you don't care about him anymore?" he asked. Khushi shrugged. "If i would have then i would have asked you about him in these 5 years...and anyways...uski koi aukad nahi hain mere samne..." khushi hissed as she sipped her hot coffee slowly. "Khushi!" ayush breathed. "What? That's the thing he told me when we had a 'small talk' on fb after that day!" she smirked again. "And you didn't block him?" ayush asked , disbelievingly.
"No.Why should I? I wanted him to see what happens with me after him and i myself wanted to see what happens to him after me!" she let out a laugh. Her coffee was over and she was moving towards the corridor when ayush stopped her again. "So..what did you prove?" he asked. "Well...he insulted me basically because i was from a middle class family and he was from a high class family , but now , the tables are turned! I am a successful businesswoman and he is a middle class singer or whatever , i like when the tables are turned...akhir maine usse uski aukad dikha hi di!" she smirked. Ayush rolled his eyes. "This...this is what you call love?" he asked her.
But khushi simply turned towards him and nodded. "No. I don't. Because i WAS in love with him! Its a past tense...and presently , i despise him like anything. And anyways...he took my priciest possession!" she exclaimed. "What?" ayush asked her. She looked into his eyes. "My heart. He...he made me feel such strong emotions for him and only him which no other school girl would feel...he would make my heart race and stop at the same time! How dare he do that! How can a school girl feel like that?" she exclaimed and clenched her fists till her knuckles hurt. Ayush sighed. "I can't believe this! You don't choose the person you will love , it just happens!...where is the khushi who was my best friend when we were kids...where is she? What did you do to her?" he yelled at her. "Ask your 'so called' best friend...he might just have the right answer!" she smirked and threw the paper from her hands and went away.
He shook his head disbelievingly. Everything is so messed up. As he was walking away , he noticed the crumpled paper on the ground. He picked it up and read. His eyes filled up with tears. "Why? Why are you making the same mistake arnav did years ago khushi...why?" he cried and took the paper with him. He had to talk to khushi.
Ayush came out and saw khushi sitting on one corner , fidgeting with her phone. Ayush came up and stood in front of her. "What now man?" khushi asked. "That...that guy , he has given up his heart to you..." ayush exclaimed. Khushi rolled her eyes. "Well , unlike him , i have already taken my heart with myself and i am not taking anyone else's heart's responsibility...so don't come up to me about this again!" she yelled. Ayush was about to say something , when he saw his father and mother approaching them. "Great...here comes you parents...i am off..." khushi whispered and went away. It was then , that ayush noticed arnav's gaze lingering on khushi constantly. His eyes were filled with pain and anguish whereas , khushi was oblivious to the fact that she was being watched.
Arnav went up to khushi. "Oh God...hey arnav...listen man , there's a thousands of beautiful girls here...please , i beg you go to them...they will appreciate your efforts...because i won't!" she said sarcastically. Arnav kept quite. He knew he was fault and he would listen to all her rants , without any complain. Khushi expected him go away but when he didn't , she was shocked. "wow...ASR! I knew you were tenacious! But i didn't know that you still had that trait in you!" she smirked. Arnav looked at her and kept his hands on her shoulders. Khushi didn't seem captivated , but she didn't stop him either. "I just don't want to do anything to pressure you or drive away , even though sometimes , i can't help it...just like i can't help that i fell in love with you , because i did!" he huffed.
Khushi was shocked like hell. She didn't feel the coldness arounf her anymore , it was a warm feeling coming from arnav's words. They felt so , so real. For a moment , arnav could see his old , innocent , vulnerable khushi , but again , she masked herself away from him. She jerked his hands away from her shoulders and looked away. "I know what your'e thinking but..." his sentence remained unfinished as he saw her getting dragged away to the kitchen by other girls. He followed her , because he knew she hated all this.
Khushi was completely shaken by his admission. "How could he say such things after doing all that..." she thought and didn't notice arnav entering the kitchen. It was just him and her. All alone. He could see the confusion in her beautiful hazel eyes. "The heart knows the reason which , even reason doesn't know!" he shrugged. "But , i just want to prove how much i love you and want you back in my life! And i am going to prove it..." he whispered , as he inched towards her mouth. Khushi thought that he will only peck her , but she was so wrong. As soon their lips touched they were transported to some other dimension. The spoon which khushi held fell on the floor as her hands trembled while touching arnav. Arnav kept on teasing her lips as he slowly made love to them.
They kept on kissing each other until arnav fell short of breath. He laid his forehead on hers and saw her blushing. "My God your so beautiful!" he sighed and smiled. Tears gushed out of their orbs. All these years , khushi kept these tears back to be strong , but today , the dam broke. With just one kiss , her dam broke. Arnav looked up to her eyes. "Khushi Kumari Gupta , i loved you from the time you talked to me and showed your attitude...you stole my heart in the 8th standard and i am the foolish guy who didn't understand it..." he cried and kissed away her tears. This was khushi's first kiss. The first and the last man she fell in love with , kissed her for the first time. Her last first kiss.
Khushi , held clutched to arnav's shirt for dear life. She didn't know what to say. She was going through several whirlpools of burried feelings. Hatred , anguish , pain , fear and most importantly , love. She sniffed. "I love you so much khushi and it just breaks my heart to see you like this!" he cried. Khushi nodded her head. She knew that she could not say anything right now. "Will you forgive me , khushi?" he asked. Khushi smiled. "I think , i can try , both to forgive and fall in love with you again!" she had a small smile playing on her lips. "I love you sweetheart!" arnav murmured as he hugged her. "I know!" khushi hugged him back too. "And i know that your'e back for me , right?" she smiled. "Always...always and forever!" they exclaimed happily.
"School friends , had crushes on each other , became enemies , got separated , egos clashed fell in love and until 12th standard , confession and declaration of love , confusion , heartbreaks and communication gap. And after 5 years they meet at their school friend's wedding party. Maybe they were in love with each other all the time. Her heartbeat raised when she used to see him , he would desparately try to engage into a fight with her just to talk to her. Really , what a love story!"
