Arshi, Ami, Indi, Sohara, Cynthia, Supriya, Horizon, Anita, Chalhov, Wiwy, Saloni, ArshiD, IssK, everyone has posted such beautiful and touching friendship day wishes. I am going to save all these beautiful wishes in my pc. I think almost every blaster has come and posted here today. 😃 Samin, hoping you too make it here before the end of the day at your place.
Indi, happy to hear you found your school friend. That must be such a thrilling feeling. Thanks for that lively song from Bobby and also the Frasier video. I remember that episode very well, that time didn't understand what the function was about. Only after your daughter's Bat Mitzvah, I realised that it must have been Bar Mitzvah.
Supriya, your paintings are truly beautiful. You are a gifted artist, you shouldn't ignore this talent. Do continue. I think you've shared the first one earlier, isn't it? Loved both of them. Always felt painting trees detailing the leaves and painting the water are some of the difficult ones in nature paintings. But, you have done it so beautifully. 👏 Loved the texture you gave to the water, the waves look so real and so does the sand. ⭐️ And yes, do post the friendship vm again, the occasion calls for it and it is worth another look. 😊
Wiwy, thank you for the Andaz song. It is Kishore Kumar's birth anniversary today. And, I've been waiting all day to post this song sung by Kishore Kumar and another legendary singer Mohd. Rafi. A song on friendship.

Lyrics:

Bane Chaahe Dushman Zamaana Humaara

Let the world become our enemy
Salaamat Rahe Dostaana Humaara
May our friendship stay on forever
Woh Khwaabon Ke Din Woh Kitaabon Ke Din
Those days of dreams, those days of books
Sawaalon Ki Raaten Jawaabon Ke Din
Nights of questions, Days of answers
Kayi Saal Humne Guzaare Yahaan
We've Spent many years here
Yahin Saath Khele Hue Hum Jawaan, Hue Hum Jawaan
We've played here together and grew up
Tha Bachpan Bada Aashiqaana Humaara
Our childhood was quite loving
Salaamat Rahe Dostaana Humaara
May our friendship last forever
Na Bichhdenge Mar Ke Bhi Hum Doston
Friends, we will not separate even after death
Humein Dosti Ki Qasam Doston
Friends, this is a pledge on our friendship
Pata Koyi Poochhe To Kehte Hain Hum
If anyone asks for the address, we say
Ke Ek Duje Ke Dil Me Rehte Hain Hum, Rehte Hain Hum
We stay in each other's hearts
Nahin Aur Koyi Thikaana Humaara
There no other abode for us
Salaamat Rahe Dostaana Humaara
May our friendship live on forever

Durga...👏

Perfect song for perfect occasion...I remember this movie and both iconic actors ...Love Shatru and voice modulations along with AB...

Salamat rahe Dostana Humaara...⭐️

thanks for the wise words of the oompa loompa (er in the new version, the ol was an endlessly repeated man, remember... he was bong 😆 or he faked a bong identity 😆).

if we work hard enough we'll get rid of those offensive 3 too.

contradictions within, we are that. and most of what we are not even vaguely understood. the day all is known, would there even be a need to hang around on this whirling, tilted planet?

Just read your take (keep that applause ringing in your head) and am instantly drawn to the trunk:
this huge trunk... one had to wonder what it was all about? did it symbolise anything? The one that is turning out to be a sensation! The vampire number one here, in the truest sense, being your memory wala trunk, madam!!

Great tribute to Jayshree T! You make Naani ji reign supreme ... and the Raizada, oh he would be so proud coming second. In which case...what's not to love ??😊

So even though you are siding with the dushman party and all, praising the original makhmali andaaz, hum sanka loving ladkiwaale, we couldn't be happier with the proceedings😊
And the reference to reshmi ujaala and makhmali andhera would've been totally lost on us ignoramuses...I speak for others besides me... cos am sure there's a lambi line of us😛 Sharmilee, it is a distant impression now, all hazy, except the title track... so would have never ever gotten this lovely nod to the lady... very kicked to get this delicious bit of subplot!

My favorite scene this episode coming up:

as the evening of sangeet gets going, rm is full of guests, everyone is looking great, a gorgeous stage twinkling with fairy lights awaits the performances.

the guptas arrive, someone's scanning the view casually as if he doesn't care. even to the most clueless observer it is fairly clear however that he is waiting for his challenger to arrive. she who will do "kuch bhi" should she lose. he is not just waiting... waiting impatiently...
waiting dazzlingly, stunningly, gorgeously, breathtakingly. No need to speak/move/do anything else, hotstuff, just stand there and continue the looking and waiting.

asr is not alone in his search, there's nk on a similar quest. movie style they practically dash into each other so focussed they are on their pursuit
(Correct, sir... NK, note his head movement and the shoulder swing, he waltzes into frame a la SRK)... realising what the other's up to, both look a tad embarrassed, but not for long. asr wades in on the offensive, "kya dhoond rajhe ho tum?" what are you looking for? Loving it hotstuff, from quiet to offensive... oooh.

poor nk, "er, woh khushi ji..." the man is looking mighty irritated
and we go ooohagain😆, nk and khushi's little friendship is irksome, jealousy is not an emotion he is comfortable with, but seems he can't cast it aside either.

in all these light asr jealous of nk khushi moments are we seeing shades of what's to come? if this bothers him, imagine his state of mind on the terrace that night. he's about to tell her "faraq kyun padta hai" and there she is... khushi in the embrace of another man. how his mind must have shattered. and then the fusillade of "revelations."
Perfect connection!👏

"par nannav, tum kisse dhoond rahe ho?" but nannav, who are you looking for? nk counters, a hint of mischief there?

who are you looking for... one could go deeper into that one... really who is it that asr seeks? a girl who drives him crazy, or a path to himself really, or maybe something else?

he is caught unawares by that query, just looks lost... but la la la the notes are in, traipsing, lilting, a song in his heart though his khadoos air is intact..
soft, these notes...but what tremendous power they have on his eyes

...nanhe sees the lovely one, hair blowing gently, can't contain himself, exclaims, "khushi ji!!"

a head swivels.

"what?"

and khushi bends down again to push.

eyes turn swiftly in the direction... "kahan?" where?

but she's nowhere.

nk says, there, but uh huh, no kkg..."nk, din mein sapne dekhna band karo..." stop day dreaming, advises the dour one.
It's the anticipation that's killing him. His eyes, they're waiting to devour her... so till he spots her and the moment is seized, he can say nothing remotely encouraging.

ah, so she is a sapna a dream
...oh yes, she is!... not a darwana (scary) one?

khushi comes up again.

nk, "she's right there!"

and she's down again, even as a head swings... the game of hide and seek, ankh micholi resumes... feels as though he is here somewhere, being invoked before sangeet in the ipk way... sense of krishna... hai re nand kissore.
Kya baat hai! Wonderful words👏

and this time unlike the evening of di's anniversary, there is no doubt, another fabulous love story has taken birth on earth. we believe in reincarnation it is said, perhaps every story of love between two souls, is a rebirth of a primal, first love story ever between the masculine and the feminine force? there's radha and krishna in each one of them maybe?

asr thinks khushi won't come today, too scared of losing.
He doesn't really think that, does he now? Just can't wait to see her, is all...each time he flings a challenge her way, she dashes forward to grab it...so he's hoping now too...and voila! Ladki springs to action!

"shayad challenge se dar gayi hai." got scared off by the challenge maybe.

and out pops miss muffet looking big spider in the eye.

"hum nahin darte... samjhe aap." i don't get scared... do you understand?

oh he is happy to see her. so happy that his mind says something to the air and it wafts and winds lifting her hair, swirling around their love song...

i want to defeat you, says her look.

i want to win you, replies his.
Beauteous, how the camera lingers on his face, on that winsome look, for that wonderful wee long moment after NK's made a dash for her.

he reaches her along with nk, "main hari prakash ko bulata hoon" let me call hari prakash, she and buaji are lugging a heavy trunk and he offers a sensible solution... get someone to carry it.

of course, she declines, no question of being sensible here, this is the enemy party and kkg has brought along super sanaka as her stealth weapon. there's no running away from this madness tonight. makhmali sanaka.
..And her loveable loony shenanigans😊

as this huge trunk was hauled, pushed, abandoned, sat in the middle of the way, intrigued mami, one had to wonder what it was all about? did it symbolise anything... perhaps the heavy burden of the knowledge of shyam that all the guptas hid... or maybe something else. what i couldn't get over was what couldn't be carried by buaji and kkg together, nor by nk, the very thin hp could pick up just like that.😆
Cracktastic serial-giri returns😆 Best line, from NK, of course: Khushi ji, issme aur dancers bhi hain?😆

last few minutes had interesting intercutting between nani ji and nk's bichhu ye bicchu dance and shyam desperately seeking scorpion. a little obvious, but apt nonetheless.
Shyam needs to be locked up right now...he goes from dumb to dumber, and his characteris seriously losing edge.

by the way, did anyone notice how terrific the man was looking in his galaband. dark brown deepening chocolate eyes. vampire number two.

Are you kidding me?!!!😆 YOU were the one focused on Naniji and her Bram Stoker abilities there...Hum toh...our eyes were ONLY on the band-gala clad phenomenon above!!!😆

Footnote: Loved Buaji in this episode as well! So just a shout out to her dhai kilo heavy dialogues with Mano, great name that, btw😆 And later on, post aapka wala star of the day performance, when Buaji is all cold feet, Sanka Devi's pep talk... her inner Basanti back in form..."Aaj teri Basanti ki ijjat ka sawaal hai, Dhanno! Bhaag!!" becomes "Aaj Gupta parivar ki izzat ka sawaal hai, Madhumati! Naach!!"😆 And Buaji looks like she's been hit by lightening😆
Lovely stuff...Thanks for sharing!

issk,

i learn at the feet of great masters... the ones who get srk. i am probably the only non-fan here... would have never connected that backward walk of nk's with the king, but now that you mention it... 😆. therew as srk built into him, me was rightwa...anita pointed out the entrance from kkkg with gif too. having seen the movie i did recall the scene, but had forgotten (okay kill me) the khan entrance.

hotstuff. hyukhyuk... me loves that name. and we have our loop moment,
...waiting dazzlingly, stunningly, gorgeously, breathtakingly. No need to speak/move/do anything else, hotstuff, just stand there and continue the looking and waiting.

and btw do not think i didn't notice what you tried to do... haan? get vampire two to be one again. by the time i was 3/4 way through with all the pauses on each line on the boy, i was almost gone again. merawala hotsuff was so upset it seemed that i'd chosen nani ji over him... awww.

speaking of bram stoker... can you imaaagine bs as "come, my darling" drax? okay, i am from that era, that's watched christopher lee do the toothy one in tv reruns. something awfully sensuous in the whole vamp thing (i don't watch twilight and stuff and i don't write fan fiction that makes me the second or whatever richest being in the universe 😆 but i do understand that every generation needs its vampire series... ) casual googling revealed a while back that the original dracula book was written to challenge or cut through the nonsense of victorian era sexual norms... so powerful an idea, that even the that cardboardy, too much make up, stilted version used to give me the chills and a thrill i didn't understand.

ooo the boy and the bram stoker boy. hotsuff.

thanks for your chat with my post... lovely as always. great connection on that solay picture dhanno dialogue... by the way, that was also before your time... see? see? you not badi beti on this thread teehee.

@Indi
Really good to see your POV for our boy and yes God knows what's going on as we know only some info which is shown to us and in Khushi terms hum uss peh believe kare hain jo hum karna chahye hain ...but still he is not working and he is weak and all stirs some doubts .that's all...

Yes ASR is in him and he does not want to show ,no way and he stubborn Akhdoo isn't he when he is among ppl and tell them directly how he feels...He is not happy with longer hrs so he is not ...but on IF I remember it was a a volcano that and on.for a long time...I like his way of anger as I have no issues with that...

@Issk...IQ of 3..seriously😆...

they call it a vampire. something in a piece of communication which is so powerful that it seems to "suck" all the attention, and doesn't let you see the entire picture. a few words became a right royal cousin of the prince of transylvania for me while watching the first days of sangeet.

as anjali and snake announced the first dance of the evening, they gave an ishara about the first dancer...

he said,"jab woh naachti hain, ujala toh reshmi hota his hai..." when she dances, brightness of course becomes silken...
she said, "andhera bhi makhmali h jata hai..." darkness also becomes velvety.
i went, "what the..."

a beat in my ears delicate, playful; flashes from a sultry "cabaret" of those days which are now in retro land, but where i grew up. a hot number with a girl swinging and gyrating in shimmery costume, fingers spread out covering part of face, come hither looks just behind, a feeling of night and naughtiness.

"reshmi ujala hai...(the perfectly measured pause with a heady rhythm building up before the next words float in light and alluring) makhmali andhera... aaj ki raat... aisa kuchh karo..."

silken is the brightness, velvety the dark... this night tonight, do something...

anyone seen sharmilee? the 1971 super hot romance about an army officer utterly sexy with the uhhhest smile, shashi kapoor... in love with the wrong twin, the very sultry rakhee. in that film there was this cabaret, by one of the newer dancers, the fabulous helen being the reigning queen forever. she was smooth and sensuous, and together with rd's music and asha's knowing, worldly singing of the evening words, that number pretty much set fire to the moment and got permanently embedded in an 11 year old's mind. the song, the words, the slowly undulating danseuse.

only her name was not top of mind. no... i thought, can't be jayshree t, i've seen her do so many dances, that sophistication... not her surely.

of course, i was wrong. it is her. i am so grateful to the writers for inserting this little wink wink into the dialogue. between that dance uo there and the one we saw in 166, it was like a tribute to her extraordinary career and talent. more than 40 years she's been around, i was surprised to see her as nani ji, i had no idea she could act so well. in hindi films she mainly did itemish numbers i think, there may have been a few exceptions... she was achhi nahi bahu in one. perhaps marathi film gave her the opportunity to explore her talents as an actor.

and there she was.

sweet, strong, capable, and bichhu yeh bichhu dancing nani ji. got to say, this nani really was like none other as khushi said during holi (was it?), aap toh naachti hai.

i also had no idea how articulate this woman usually in skimpy clothes and strange make up was. saw a wonderful hour long interview with her once, will post if i can find it. jayshree t really astounds me... who would have thought...

whew. as you can see, nani ji got me this episode.

even the boy came second.

there was more velvet in the episode. it was the fabric of her dress, it was in the look in his eyes every time he saw her. sometimes it was in her eyes too, just below the miff and challenge.

and there was glamour. for the first time and perhaps the only time in ipk, khushi looked not just beautiful but glam. sanaya carried off the maroon velvet top and chiffon lehenga beautifully, who could blame asr for looking acutely in love... a bit sillified by it almost.

as the evening of sangeet gets going, rm is full of guests, everyone is looking great, a gorgeous stage twinkling with fairy lights awaits the performances.

the gupta's arrive, someone's scanning the view casually as if he doesn't care. even to the most clueless observer it is fairly clear however that he is waiting for his challenger to arrive. she who will do "kuch bhi" should she lose. he is not just waiting... waiting impatiently.

payal, rather beauteous today, eyes searching for the one. mano in a mood to snub. but her son is in romantic hide and seek vein. di enters the fray, and a sweet fam moment... there's a festive feel to the night, a brightness rather special.

suddenly... bang.. drag...
all turn. an entry is in progress.
"hai re nand kissore, zor lagake hainya, dam lagake hainya" oh lord, push it with your strength, way to go... with more energy... way to go...

buaji, rope slung over one shoulder is hauling in something heavy out of sight. "dhakka maaro dhakka." push... push.

nk and asr have turned to stare as has mami, all nonplussed.

and from behind buaji rises a vision... heaving... khushi with hair open, teeka on, glowing in maroon, pushing something.

nanhe sees the lovely one, hair blowing gently, can't contain himself, exclaims, "khushi ji!!"

a head swivels.

"what?"

and khushi bends down again to push.

eyes turn swiftly in the direction... "kahan?" where?

Indi👏⭐️

fabulous...Nice analogy with Vampire...and sucking all the attention..👏

Indeed I thought exactly the same song first time last year when I saw this epi...and JayShree is a good dancer and took place of Helen pretty well in item numbers...but I liked her here as Naniji...Just like you said had no clue she will be the BEST Nani ever...Thnx to writers to give her what she deserves...⭐️...her Bichoo has all the message to everyone for the Alert sign of Shyam yet no one seeps in...and how...but Guptas can.Anjali can...Alas

Couldn't resist chuckling here
and out pops miss muffet looking big spider in the eye.😆

And you are trying to make logic with the trunk here.😆..as I mentioned before Khushi is bringing Trunk as she is entering with her luggage in RM and one day when she is dragging it and Arnav removes the hurdle for her to move it.she falls down and very next day Dadi throws her out...and remarriage starts and Arnav remove all the hurdles to bring her back with or without luggage😊

I like your interpretation too as this trunk is full of lies and deception by Guptas and today Buaji and Khushi is bringing it and later Buaji is the one who will come to take Khushi when Dadi calls...

Oh yeah their eyes since yesterday...When they were in the Kitchen doing all eye thingy with hot desires and throwing heat at each other is very much appears here...She Perks up with his challenging words...and his sansain ruk jana moment comes and he just couldn't take his eyes off just gulping seems like breathing...and Sanka is creating all the havoc and taking it to the extreme in next couple of hrs when he will lose all the barriers during teri meri dance

Yes I saw Sharmilee more than one time...My fav song is here which is perfect for that red rose in the bun

Thnx for such a makhmali review...
afte reading this I wanna jump here but I am struggling catching up...need some time😊
