Part:1

She sat down on the sofa looking at the wallpaper on her iphone. 6 months it had been since she started working, 6 months was half a year and they were going to celebrating it tomorrow.

Kushi gupta was a simple girl from an upper middle class family. Lived with her father and younger brother. Her mother had left them when her brother was just 5 year old! Father was a government employee. They lived a simple life until they found out her father had diabetics and it was in the stage where he had to be injected insulin twice a day along with some medicines. Living became difficult for them with only her father working, brother's and her education, everyday food and her father medicines which were quiet expensive. She was just 16, started doing small part time job after classes, taking tuitions for little kids. When she turned 18 she started working in call centers at night thinking she needed more money to join college and luckily she got scholarship in one of the good colleges in Mumbai where she lived, college was huge with all kind of courses including the school of arts. She took up BBM even though she loved acting and everything went smoothly from then on. She and her brother were really close even though he was 4 years younger to her, he was her advisor during the times when she was unable to decide certain things on her own and she was like a mother to him.

She was now 21 doing her final year of BBM, she was going to be graduated in few months.

Like every day after her classes were over kushi went to the arts department auditorium to see students doing theatrical. She enjoyed watching them act and wished she could do it to one day. She checked their notice board to see if there was any of their shows to be held, there wasn't any but she saw something else which caught her attention. directors from tv channel were coming for auditions for their upcoming show since they wanted young people of their age who were just going to start their career. But then it was only for the arts students.

"di I think you should give it try. But if they select you"

"but sonu! Its only for arts student, im not in their department"

"oh come on di! It's a huge campus, no one knows which department one belong to unless you know them and your just giving audition not killing someone"

"still' I just don't feel right about it"

"di its your dream to act and I know your very good at it, our family situation made you not take up acting now that you got a chance there's no harm in trying right?"

"ya' but what if they catch me? I mean its only for'"

"ill come with you then, no one will know di done be scared" kushi nodded still thinking

There were so many people, some looked like they didn't belong to her college.

"look at the amount of people di, im sure they all are not from the arts department!" kushi glared at her brother "I mean look di so many from just one department unbelievable"

There was a big line and she was almost at the end, they were given numbers and had to wait for their numbers to be called.

"don't you think we should have told papa about it sonu?"

"di even he knows how much you love acting so im sure he wouldn't mind and more over if we tell him and you don't get a chance he'll feel more sad than you cox already he's sad saying he's not able to give us a life we love" kushi nodded agreeing with him biting her nails.

"di" he said making her remove her hand from her mouth but it again went back to her mouth "di how many times have I told you to stop biting your nails"

"huh?" she came out of her thoughts and realized her hand was in the mouth "im sorry sonu' im just nervous"

"its okay di you'll do well" he said hugging her from side.

It was almost evening when her name was called. She was asked to act sad and confused since the situation was the aftermath of losing her parents and it was her responsibility to look after her younger siblings with no one to help her. She was given lines to say. She started her act and didn't realize when tears started flowing down her cheeks since she thinking about her own life when she was doing it. Everyone who was watching her had tears including her brother who knew the reason, she touched everyone's heart. She was selected among the 9 others who were selected. They said she would be called and informed and a letter will be sent to her home if she was finalized since they weren't the ones to make the final decision.

She waited everyday hoping she get a call and kept checking the notice board but nothing there too. It had been a week and she gave up hope. But to her surprise she was called up the next day saying she was selected and that she'll get the letter the next day and it has all the details and she was to meet them two days later in the studio.

Her happiness had no bounds, her father was more than happy when he came to know about it and encouraged her in all ways.

Soon she met the directors and story brief was told to her, the name of the story was Zindhagi! It was about a girl and boy who are leading a different kind of life. Girl struggling to take care of her siblings and her career forgetting about her dreams and desires while the guy is leading a carefree life, parting enjoying his life with friends not caring about anything until he meets the girl and understands the importants of money and how he's been living all these while. The guy falls in love with her

Arnav singh raizada was the son of rich businessman Sanjay singh raizada. Arnav was doing his MBA and helping his father in the business. He had a elder sister anjali jha who was a tv actress, even though she hadn't done any lead roles she was quiet famous in sibling and bhabi roles and everyone admired her for it. She was happily married to shyam jha who was a producer. Currently he was the producer of Zindhagi and anjali was to do the role of the lead actor's sister-in-law and arnav singh raizada was the lead. He himself had volunteered to do it (reasons no one knows).

Chapter:2

Shoots had started and kushi had missed a few classes. She got introduce to the whole crew and she wasn't really comfortable for few weeks later pulled it off but she hadn't done any scenes with arnav as yet and since she had classes too she used to leave as soon as her shoot was done and never really got a chance to sit and talk to him.

Two weeks later on a Saturday she stayed back since she didn't have classes or any other work and plus they had a shoot together.

Kushi maintained her distance with everyone knowing she wasn't like them.

"hi" arnav said taking a seat beside her

"hi" she replied awkwardly. Who wouldn't in her place, he was breath taking handsome, had a awesome husky voice, the body and any girl would fall for him. and she started having a crush on him from the day they got introduced.

"so finally we get to talk"

"yeah' i'guess'so"

"your pretty girl kushi"

"umm' thank you" she didn't know whether to be happy or think he just said it not meant it.

And finally arnav was successful in telling her. How he wanted to talk to her, tell her how beautiful and pretty she was since the time he saw her auditions video with his brother-in-law. This was the reason he had volunteered to take up the lead role. Maybe it was love at first sight.

Since that day their talks increased, she became comfortable with him, he started calling her pretty girl(hehe' copied from my fav show 'one tree hill') which she didn't mind infact she felt good when he called her that. Arnav's crush for her changed into respect when she told him about her life and slowly into love. The question was did she love him too?!

3 months had passed by and the show was loved among the audience, she was now a BBM graduate. Life had become easy for her, they moved into a better place, lived a better life but the happiness didn't last for long her father died due to heart attack the doctors said it was his third attack and that he was brought to the hospital two times when he got attack at work.

Kushi was broken after her father's death but showed that she was strong but arnav knew her well so he took her out one night. They reached a deserted beach at night.

"arnav what are we doing here"

"remove you sandals pretty girl, we'll just walk feeling the cold sand under our foot"

They walked along the beach silently. Kushi looked at the dark sea and the cold breeze hit her face making her shiver a bit and hug herself. She smiled feeling good after many days.

"do you miss him?" arnav looking ahead making her smile vanish

"yes" she barely managed to whisper not wanting the tears to fall. Arnav wrapped his hands around her shoulder assuring that he's there for her.

"you should move on kushi, im not telling to forget him but think kushi will he be happy seeing you like this? You're pretending to be happy when you're not! Let your sorrows out you'll feel better! Talk to someone, your brother or even me. I'm there anytime you feel like talking" kushi nodded her head not caring to wipe the tears which had already made their way down her cheeks.

"its just that he always felt bad thinking he wasn't able to provide us a life which we wished for, how much ever we told we loved our life just the way it is he would just smile and say okay but we know he still felt bad and now that we got a better life to live like he's not there to see it. I wanted to take care of him like he took care of us, he's was broken man ever since our mother left us. Even though it was an arranged marriage papa loved her but she didn't and one day she left us just like that" kushi said wiping her tears

"why did she leave kushi?" arnav asked not sure it would be right to ask about it at this time

"she fell in love with someone else, this is what papa told when I asked once" she said standing facing the sea letting the water hit the feet.

"why don't you talk to anyone much on the sets?" he wanted to ask this from a long time

"umm' I don't know, I feel I don't belong I mean you people are rich and everyone is experienced and stuff I feel out of place as im new so I keep myself away" she said embarrassed

"Kushi not everyone is born experienced everyone as a first time in everything they do and as for being rich, in our sets no one differentiates between high and low, everyone is equal. And you know di admires you so much!"

"really?!" she asked amused looking at him

"yeah! She says the way you put out emotions are really good" he said making her blush. Not that no one complimented her before maybe cox she heard it from him.

They made their way towards the car.

"thank you arnav!"

"for what?"

"for making me feel better"

"no problems, you're my friend and its becomes my duty to see whether my friend is fine" she smiled.

And since that day taking arnav's advice she started mingling with the rest of the crew and he was right they were very much friendly specially anjali. Both of them pulled off well, whenever they got free on the sets they used to sit and talk so much about nothing in particular.

Kushi crush for arnav remained as crush only. Being a girl who lived a simple life she didn't have much dreams about herself and she hadn't thought about love either. But there want a day she would go to sleep without talking to arnav unknown to her he had became a part of her daily life, she would start getting restless not seeing him on sets, feel bad if he didn't talk to her eventually she was falling for him even with her knowing.

Sometimes her brother would accompany her to the shoot and her brother was very famous on the sets for his jokes. Everyone liked him. he was a very bubbly kind of person making others laugh all the time. He and arnav bonded well, he found a very good elder brother in arnav and it was the same with arnav, he found a loving younger brother in sonu.

Days passed and their show was doing well and the pair had become quiet famous among the youth for their chemistry, there were even rumors spread that they were dating. Well this is what happen when you are single in the industry the media just pair you up with whomever they feel like. But this didn't affect their friendship they ignored the rumors.

Chapter:3 *last part*

Di from yesterday I've been noticing, your become so restless, you even didn't do shoots well. What wrong di? Is there something bothering you?" asked her brother worried as he's not seen his di like this before

"Nothing sonu" she said flipping her phone continuously

"you can share it with me di, whatever it may be" he said genuinely. What will she tell him when she herself didn't know what was wrong except the fact that she's not able pass her day without talking to arnav who had gone abroad for a business meeting since his father was sick to travel. He was gone for 4 days and hardly a day passed and she was feeling so terrible not talking to him.

The three days kushi like a machine, she would come act and leave, didn't talk to others much and in the evening time she's go sit by the beach it late night. She was missing him badly. She looked like as if he had taken her life with him.

On the other hand arnav was so busy the whole with back to back meetings that he would come back to room go straight to bed. Even he missed her but the work kept him busy from her thoughts.

It was the day arnav as returning and kushi as usual was sitting on the beach in his thoughts when she heard a voice not just voice his voice. She turned towards from where the voice had come only to see him standing by a distance smiling. She got up shocked and happy seeing him after what felt like eternity. For a minute he stood there taking it in that he was actually here and next thing she knew she was in his arms hugging him tight as if holding on to her life.

Arnav was finally happy he was going to meet and hear her voice after so many days. When he went to her house her brother had filled him with how she had become after he left. After hearing everything arnav thought may be the feelings were mutual and at the beach when she came running to hug him he was sure she felt the same way.

She pulled apart feeling awkward not that she was hugging him for the first time but this time she felt different which she couldn't get hold off.

After that night, she ignored him as much as possible she didn't know why she did it but she thought it was the right thing to do.

When she explained the situation to her brother, her brother had told her that it was cox she was in love with him. her brother was extremely happy for his sister. But she thought arnav just saw her as his friend only which made her ignore him more.

In two It was going to be 6 months since their show started and they were planning to celebrate it.

After seeing her sister ignoring arnav more sonu decided he should do something knowing his sister's happiness lies with arnav. He called up arnav telling him everything making arnav more than happy!

Kushi sat on the sofa after her shot was done, she looked at the wallpaper on her phone, it was her papa's pic along with her and her brother smiling widely. From yesterday arnav stopped making an effort to talk to her, she felt bad and tomorrow they were completing 6 months of their show and didn't feel happy at all!

The lights went off and only a spot light was on with arnav standing under it. He started moving making the light move along with him. He stood in front of kushi and another spot light came on her making her look up at the source of light.

He stood close to her taking both her hands in his.

"Kushi I started having a crush on you ever since I saw your auditions video" everyone in the hall gasped especially his sister, brother-in-law, mother and father. The party was a private affair with only the crew members and no media. They had cut a cake on the sets just for the media!

"yes and this was the reason I volunteered to act so that I could get to know you better and as days passed after knowing you well I don't know when it turned out to be love, I fell in love with you kushi, I don't know why I just did. I love you kushi!" he finished looking straight into her eyes which was now filled with tears of joy.

"I love you too" she said smiling through her tears. Arnav got on his knees took out a ring from his pocket, holding it up to her he asked,

"Will you marry me pretty girl?" she just nodded since couldn't say anything with being so happy. He slide the ring onto her finger and both hugged.

Everyone clapped hands in joy. The hall filled with everyone congratulating them. Suddenly they heard someone scream.

"STOP!" sonu scream gaining everyone's attention "how could you di? How could you?"

"sonu…"she started but sonu cut her off "you don't have to say nothing, I don't want to hear *paused, looked at everyone faces* apart from when is your wedding date" saying he smiled at his sister mischievously, everyone burst out laughing while kushi run into her brother's arms.

"im very happy for you di" he said still in the hug. Everyone smiled at the due.
