This is my post on another thread. These are my thoughts. I don't know how the tv industry functions , this is solely from whatever I have getting the information from media ---- here media is IF and only IF, as even if there is slight mention of the serial/characters/actors/directors/PH etc., it finds its way here.
Big applause for IF -- will put the process flow of PTI and Reuters to shame...
After having spent hours and hours on IF forums on so many months right now, at this moment I think the following statements are true.
1. BS had put papers during Sept month end and he had given two months notice.
2. The negotiations have failed, but BS may continue till UK visit. The channel must have insisted on this.
3. PH have two options.
(i) End the show -- But the channel may be keen on continuing the show. PH do know that the viewers will not accept anyone else as ASR.
(ii) Knock the character of Arnav and bring in a new hero -- After seeing the various sagas in different serials, one basic rule "nothing is impossible in daily soaps" . Feed the audience with anything , two days they will get pissed off and change the channels. After a while they will accept it. This seems to be the norm. It is not that it is so with only Indian teleserials. American soap B&B, the character of Taylor was killed many times, and she was brought back to life each time -----(includes the coming to life again , after giving proper burial -- our own Kabir Bedi had stolen the casket and had revived her ...) .
IPKND has been different so far. It is not just a soap opera. Arhi romance has touched and intruded into our minds and psyche. For us they are and will remain tv equivalent of old characters like Romeo Juliet.
On tv there were love stories and there will be love stories but there will not be Arhi.
Four Lions may make another 40 serials but there will not be another IPKND .
BS may don upon different characters in future , but there will be no ASR.
SI may romance other actors, but there will be no KSG.
IF had and will have different forums , but there will not be forum like this, where each of the members has felt the agony and escatacy of Arhi journey and where you will get big cyclone if a small butterfly flaps its wings in IPK land or IPK studios...
So , my sincere request to the makers of this phenomenon called IPKND is please end the show on a happy note. After all when you'd started it , you had thought of 400-500 episodes right?
Yes, if Sarun continue to be there, then the history is still in the making and it can continue to be so...
