Biography
Son of Charanjit Singh, himself a musician, Raju Singh belongs to a family that had a business in selling musical instruments. The guitar was Raju's inseparable companion in school and college. He began music under the tutelage of Guru Uttam Singh for 3 years. Raju Singh's album Roop Inka Mastana which was singular in concept and execution when remix was in its infancy and nobody took remixes seriously. His first work was with Malkit Singh of 'Hai Jamalo' fame. The duo together with Adesh Srivastav then released an album called 'I Love Golden Star', a sweeping rage in the underground circles in Britain.

Initially in Bollywood, Raju played the guitar and keyboards for R. D. Burman till his untimely demise. Kavita Krishnamurty, Sadhana Sargam, and Sonu Nigam are some of the top singers he has worked with but before they burst into starlight. Always a being a loner despite his firm contacts resulted in his very first album Koi Baat Nahin. Javed Akhtar was so terribly impressed that he got ready to work with him in Tum Yaad Aaye. Javed Akhtar and Alka Yagnik were brought together for the first time through this album. The album was gave Raju Singh, a fillip in the Hindi film music world. Deewanapan, Paagalpan, Madhur Bhandarkar's Satta, Kisi Se Na Kehna, Shaadi.com, Karvat, and Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain were films that followed in quick succession. Raju Singh scored music for a Malayalam film Snehapurvam Anna with the help of his wife - a Malayali).

Raju Singh is slowly but surely making ascent to the top in Bollywood.
