A Missed Opportunity
Hi Guys!
So I decided to continue cus most of you wanted me to, but I cant promise a happy ending lol sorry
This part is dedicated to Devilways because she's an awesome writer! And for the first time I saw her comment on my OS and I was overwhelmed ! and she suggested that I show Khushi's side of the story too so here it
Also its not really a continuation just the other side of the story, as in the first part its been months since Khushi left.

chhik chhik chiik chhik chhik chhik chhik
The engines of the green vehicle made alarming sounds alerting the passengers of its departure.
Khushi threw the bag near the window seat, which held some needed necessities, and some memories that were enough for her to survive.
She sat on the seat looking straight at the platform a lone tear rolling down her cheek that she wiped off moments after silently bidding goodbye to the city which held countless memories.
The train passed several villages and soon enough her compartment was filled with passengers. All sorts of people, from a friendly sardar ji to his slightly annoyed but lovely wife, to an old woman in her 70s to a city girl who seemed around 20, occupied the seats around her.
Soon the train embraced the dark chilly night and all the passengers dozed off in their respected seats, except for one.
She stared in the dark night, as the train continued to move at its designated speed. Street lights could be seen at a distance and a fair was located in the far end of the village. Seeing the high spirits of the villagers in the fair brought back some memories.
She smiled through the tear stricken eyes and wished to go back in time, in her childhood. Where the biggest problem would be that she couldn't find her favorite crayon or they wouldn't air the episode of her favorite cartoon. She smiled and chuckled at the simplicity of the time and their dramatics of taking such a trivial matter so seriously.
Suddenly the smile faded as she remembered how her life had turned into a living hell in the past few months and how she wouldn't let the rivers of tears flow even in the hardest situations. Oh the irony.
"excuse me…aap lengi?"
her reverie was broken as soon as the train came out of the mountains and the girl who sat in front of her offered her some home made food.
Khushi flashed a genuine smile at the kindness of a stranger. She shook her head in negative and said "im not hungry, thank you"
She wondered how sometimes people who didn't even know you were so kind and genuine and those who knew you and claimed to love you didn't leave a chance to hurt you.
Even though he had changed what he did in the past could not be erased.
Her life has been on a roller coaster for the past few months and now when she was finally alone in some peace she could think straight.
Only now she had realized what he did was wrong. She always believed in forgiving others but standing for oneself was also one of the important values of her existence.
Now she had realized she should have stood for herself. True she still loved him, because her love wasn't conditional like his but she felt angry at herself for being so vulnerable for being so weak, for letting others give her the treatment she didn't deserve.
Initially she was being double minded on the decision of leaving everything behind, but now…
Maybe it was good after all. Maybe fate was giving her a chance to stand on her own feet without any obstacles in the way, to pursue her dreams, to become the independent woman she always dreamt of becoming.
_________
She stood there in front of the full length mirror, straightening the creases of her pencil skirt.
She looked at the reflection of herself in the mirror with the mixture of pride, astonishment, determination and disappointment
There stood a girl dressed in a violet silk blouse with a black pencil skirt that landed at her knees revealing her milky white, long legs adorned with dark purple heels. Her hair were left open and the dead straight silky locks fell right above her chest framing the innocent face with the minimal makeup and pearl studs.
She was proud at her achievements, astonished at the transformed figure of Khushi Kumari Gupta into Ms Gupta, determined to keep moving forward and disappointed…well even though she had told him to not come after her she had expected him to at least track her down and maybe give a call, but no that didn't happen, the last string has been broken just like the many others.
It's been months since she settled into the hustle bustles of Mumbai, and today was her birth day. The same day which she was forced to celebrate with…him.
"Happy Birth Day" he whispered
She turned around to look who had wished her but no one was there. Who was she kidding, him and wishing her? That has to be a joke.
"Happy birth day!!!!" Naina ran into her room with a bouquet of roses and a present for her best friend and housemate Khushi.
Call it fortunate or unfortunate that she left Delhi in that train months ago, despite losing all the ties that she considered so dear, she had found all of them in one once again. In the form of Naina. That same stranger who had offered her food at one point had now become her best friend and sister when she needed solace, brother on rakshabandhan, parents when she needed advice and that family when she needed to celebrate.
It was Naina who had been her support all this while, who had given her the motivation she needed to move forward to achieve her goals, to fulfill her dreams.
"Thanks Naina" she said hugging her back wholeheartedly.
"So aur kis kis ne wish kiya? Main sabse first hoon na!" Naina squealed in happiness.
"Haan Naina first and last"
She replied simply.
"Aisa kyun bolti ho? Have some hope he will call"
Sometimes she thought Naina was way too optimistic.
"Nahi Naina, hope wahan hoti hain jahan thoda sa bhi chance hota hai…is case mein no chance, and I don't want to end up being hurt..again…like every single time"
she said plainly her voice void of any emotions, also lacking the Khushi spirit she used to have.
"Khush-Eee" she said pulling her arm in a friendly manner.
"kum se kum aaj to kuch positivity dikhao"
"it doesn't matter Naina, besides you are my only family now" Khushi said giving her one of her genuine smiles.
"ohh really? And Karan what about him huh?" Naina's teasing spirit returned.
"Nainaaa, aisa kuch nahi hai" Khushi said, naughtiness clearly evident in her eyes, throwing a cushion at her while Naina ran to save her life.

"Ms Gupta can you come to my office I have something important to discuss"
"yes sir, I will be right there"
Wondering what the important news could be she quickly wrapped her assignment and went to his office as instructed.
"Ms Gupta please have a seat"
She sat, feeling a bit nervous at the serious expressions of her boss.
Minutes later she returned to her cabin ready to jump in the air out of excitement.
After giving the important news to Naina she resumed with her assignment feeling joyous and even more proud at her newfound achievement.
A feeling of competition or call it pay back developed in the corner of her heart for a certain someone.
Who once used to be selfless and giving had now become independent, mature and strategic to fight the man who needed to have a taste of his own medicine.

I just wrote what came to my mind😆
I know the second part might seem totally out of place Im sorry if I have disappointed any of you, but I didnt want Khushi to be miserable I wanted her to remain strong and think things thrue instead of reaction emotionally, and become independent.
I wanted to show that she does not need Arnav to have a high quality life and whatever insults Arnav threw at her should become her strengths and she should show him that what her aukat is, as he always used to bring that up.
Also if you want a happy ending this OS (Now a 3 Shot) would have to turn into a SS which I cant afford as I already have too many things on hand.
Please leave your comments they make me super happy😆
