Shaym's Payal's Connection?

There was something about that scene. I can't put my finger on it but it seemed like CVs were hinting at something. Foreshadowing about the kid's future? Or something related to the past? At one moment, it seemed to me like they were showing Shaym has Anjali fooled. Then the next moment, towards the end when Shaym is picking up drum, I got the impression that they were showing he is ready to do dhamakas and Anjali is getting ready to have a showdown with him as well.
